Cracked galaxy screen

Every person i have ever known who has done that has paid a few thousand for it, the HTC touch back then was R3000, my iphone 3G about 3 months after i got it they quoted me R6500 for the screen, the new phone was R5400 at the same time.

More often than not the cost to repair a cracked screen is close to if not more than the cost of replacing the handset itself.

If its insured return it to your provider, book it in for a BER, they will charge you between R80 and R250 for it and it will take 1 day to sort out, take that to your insurance and get your new phone.
 
Do a bit of research, you can buy the glass and do it yourself... probably wont be too easy but will save you money.

Yep, there's a guy on ebay they sells all your phone parts. You buy kits which include the tools and the digitizer, and there will be tones of online resources(youtube) that will help you out. It'll cost about R400~R500 to bring in a new digitizer, so it's pretty cheap :). Best of luck!
 
but with the galaxy the oled is glued to the digitizer if im not mistaked which would require removal and reglue of the oled which is liable to tear. Fook. i could maybe live with it until the galaxy nexus launches....
