Cracking a RAR password

so a mate of mine gave me diablo pc game and now has forgotten the password to the RAR file

i have tried the RAR password recovery software with the brute force attack but nothing helps

any ideas

Waste of time. You will spend months if not years trying to bruteforce it.

Just download a new copy or buy it.

He probably downloaded it somewhere and it had a password. Just hash the file and search it on Google... http://www.igorware.com/hasher/download try a md5 or sh1 hash search...
