Cradlestone just robbed

It was the Samsung store

If this is indeed the case and it was the Samsung Store, then this is my nightmare scenario:

Take your wife and three kids along with you to buy a camera at Samsung. Running late and trying to catch the store open, you all arrive there at 17:30.

Buy a camera, do the paperwork, payment and leave the store at 17:55. The doors are closed as you leave. In less than 3 minutes later shots ring out, there is chaos all over, people screaming, running. You, luckily, end up in another store where workers rush for the doors, close and lock them and everyone ducks down - not sure what is about to happen next - your kids crying...

Well, I am not new to robberies, have been involved in quite a few shootouts, got shot twice in robberies, but it really is a nightmare when you have your family with you. If we stayed 2 or so minutes later in that store, we would have been caught in the middle of the robbery.

wow close call.

This is why more people needs guns

Vodacom have even sent us all a memo on how to behave, what to do and what not to do in case of a store robbery. It is sad the times we are living in :-(

Glad you and family OK House.

You in a armed robbery and you have your firearm. You see them pointing guns but not shooting. You pull out your gun and they start shooting and some innocent person gets killed by them. You unfortunately will be charged with murder first off and sit in courts for years to come. You might not end up being sentenced with murder but if you get a d@@s of a detective and NPA official that's the reality. Oh and you sit without a firearm till found innocent or perhaps forever.

Unless there are max 2 with only handguns and their backs are towards you and someone's life is definitely in danger you probably don't stand a chance unless you have special training and a marksman shot.
Sometimes it's best to accept and hope no one gets injured but if the shyte is really going down well no options.

Is your store anywhere near a mall entrance Ocks?

Luckily I dont work in our stores anymore, but I get copied in all the vodacom memos that goes out to them.

Two is close to a entrance ... but the one you need to go up the escalator to get to it so I think that negates the risk. Thing is there are high value stores bundled very closely to that entrance. Our store, a jewlery store and a Sony store. Our other store was robbed not so long ago actually come to think of it. I cant remember now what they got away with. Can ask our lady that deals with our insurance claims

Yip.

You don't hear stories of super hero civilians that thwart robberies with their trusty guns they carry round shopping malls.

Remember the Kenyan attacks.... in the end the terrorists ducked and it was the police shooting at the plain clothed police shooting at the civilians with their guns... utter chaos.
