Hi,

So i am trying to be healthier, i have always generally been one to try eat a bit cleaner and gym regularly etc but i am trying to push a little bit more into it. the biggest issue i am finding as of very late is that i seem to crave the worst cr@p all the time, like i have just literally eaten a pork chop with veggies and some sweet potato for dinner and i sit her just wanting to eat someething, like icecream or cry wors or something.

what do you guys do to curb the cravings/appetite generally? or do you give into it in a healthier way? or do you think i am spiking my insulin or something?

TIA

I got rid off all sweets in my house, have a serious sweet tooth like you. I eat a block or two of lindt dark chocolate everyday helps with the cravings and then you dont over do it either. You must get rid of the junk

there is none, rarely is ever.

I am also naughty and love a late-night fridge assault. Making sandwiches out of whatever is in the fridge.

What I've started doing recently since I signed up to the weight-loss thread, is I buy salted peanuts from Manolis and keep them in a jar on the kitchen counter.

So when I end up in the kitchen looking for a snack, I spot the jar, pour a handful into a small bowl and munch on that. Bonus is that since it is salted, I drink a lot of water with it.

Maybe something like that can help you.

Just ignore them. They eventually go away on their own. Some advice I can give you is drink plenty of water as soon as you feel a craving.

The only way is to wait it out and not have access to it. The only reason I seem to be able to eat less junk is because I work from home and I let my wife take the car. So I can't quickly go to the shops. Fortunately I am not big on sweet stuff, which seems to be the biggest issue.

I keep chewing gum on my desk - it definitely helps

isnt that even worse? and linked to stomach ulcers when it is constantly chewed?

I'll let you know in a few years :sneaky:

I usually chew after meals until the craving disappears

i think it is deemed better if you had just eaten, the "theory" is that you are increasing your stomachs acidity level by chewing as your body thinks there is food to digest.

I have the total opposite, I usually wake up and have an intense craving for chilli. Then i try to find something to have hot sauce at like 2am in the morning.
