My mouse goes crazy sometimes, jiggles around and hard to work or play with.

Its not my usb mouse coz I pulled it out and it was the same.
Disabled my touchpad and still the same.
Have to restart or hibernate to correct it.

Doesnt happen too often but still bloody well irritating.

I am guessing its a software issue, anyone got some good advice?

Not a hair inside the mouse, interfering with the laser?

Although, as you say, if a restart helps, probably a software problem.

What surface are you using as a mousepad? Try using an old exam pad and see if the problem persists

Did anyobe read the first post were he said it's not the mouse as his track pad does the same thing?

Sigh.

Everyone above me fails.

and make sure you have the latest drivers installed for the mouse. I have seen this happen on XP machines where the mouse cursor just goes on a 'walk' all by itself.

the problem with my mouse is that when i`m press one click it click on its own. i try to change the mouse settings. didn`t work. get a new mouse still the same problem. reload windows, like format the hdd, put on a fresh copy. works only good for a while but after a few weeks it starts again. any suggestions?

Do you mean when you click once, you get the result of a double click?
I've had mouse problems before that were virus related. That was ages ago though, and I've had mouse problems that were unexplained and just stopped lol.
Your PC (drivers and AV) up to date?

Nevermind, I sourced the problem.

Turns out to be my bluetooth, after switching it off my mouse "cursor" stopped it's ape shyte. I use my phone as a remote control a lot, the bluetooth driver must be a lil' buggered.

yes! its updated doesn`t matter if i install xp or vista. i think i do a virus scan although i was not on the internet to catch a virus.

Same thing used to happen with me and my mx 1000 mouse.. If anything was using bluetooth within like 1 meter of the mouse, it would go all wierd and jumpy..
