Creating skeleton diagrams in Word?

Hi, guys

Does anyone know how to create skeleton diagrams on Word (or any other document authoring software)? I am not looking for the standard diagram tools - they are way too labour-intensive... There has to be an easier way.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about, I've attached a jpeg for you to check out!
