Creating wireless network with 2 x usb dongles

Morning all...

Not to sound confusing.But I bought 2x TP Link USB Network dongles...one for my son's PC and o e for my daughter's PC..

Now my question is...can the dongles connect to one another so they can perhaps "LAN" wireless?... cause their rooms are far apart.

I know getting a cable and connecting it directly to the 2 PC's would solve my problem..

Also they have no internet access so it will be Offline LAN...

Out of interest, do you have a router? You can isolate the traffic between those two hosts, in fact the possibilities are endless, the moment you introduce a router into the mix.

@The_Ogre...they don't have a router as I know it would have been so much easier and atm can't get hold of 40m LAN cable.

Okay...I tried the way of link as per @UrBaN963 but see it mostly covers Win 7.

@The_Ogre...yes I want a ad-hoc connection but see Win 10 removed it and you basically have to do via cmd line..

Isn't there an easier way?

Yes, have one of them use their phone as a hotspot
