creative zen

I have a Cowon A2. Look it up. It totally whips any iPod or Creative Zen if you are a TV series fan. Its a great mp3 player but ito of TV stuff it is brilliant. Even has DMB (like DVB-H) pity we dont have such fancy stuff in SA..

Luckily I got the Cowon at the overseas price $400 and gram for dollar it slaughters an iPod.

Bwana, I just got me an iPod. How does one register on ITunes - it says I can't create an account as I am in SA.... I can't even download the free music (podcasts work fine obviously as you do not need an account for that) I am interested in TV shows mostly.
You'll have to lie to apple when you create an account using a US address. Paying for the songs will be a problem unless you have a US creditcard or iTMS music vouchers.

Own a Creative Zen Micro 5GB. Love it. Great product, good bundled software. (A year or so old ... the 2oGB is about the same price now :( )

re Creative vs iPod (I have a 60gig Zen & a 20 gig iPod & a 60 gig vid iPod)
I like the smallness of the iPod - but the Itunes habit of stripping out songs off the iPod whenever it feels like it or you hit a wrong button, is painful - the Zen is a bit more bulky and heavier, and when its behaving, is a great storage device and player. The Zen Ultra has a loose front section that comes off at times - and it needs install software on any new pc, before its recognised as a device/storage, which isnt good..I'm leaning towards the iPod as being 'better' in terms of smallness/storage/battery life - but for me the itunes rubbish interface that isnt very intuitive (at least to me) makes iPod an exercise in pain at times..

@lonegunman. That is odd that you are having issues with your PC recognising the Zen as a storage device. My mate is forever bringing his 5gb Zen to me and leeching stuff that i have dl-ed and it works a treat. No software required.

I have a 20gb ipod as do three of my mates and my ex has a nano. I must say my vote goes with the zen. I ahve had endless probelms with the ipod. My computer struggles to recognise it at all as any kind of device and it took a full hour for my mates PC to even acknowledge its existence.

A lot of people buy the ipod just cos its 'cool' and ignore other, far superior and in many cases cheaper offerings like those from Creative.

Zen all the way AFAIAC!

Far superior? Thats subjective at best. Also, last I checked - and granted it was a while ago - the zen was tied to the PC and wasnt Mac compatible. Has this changed?
