Credit card presentation when flying? (Kulula and Mango)

My friend paid for my tickets to fly from Johannesburg to Cape Town and back. I'm going on Mango and coming back with Kulula.

I remember last time being asked to present the credit card used for the transaction when booking in. There is no way I can get my friend's credit card, so I just want to know if I'm going to have some issues.

Your friend can phone the call center in order to avoid presenting the card. He will be asked a question or two that only he can answer.

You can also probably get a scan of the card with the police station stamp on it and a letter giving permission.

One of our company reps just took a copy of our MD's credit card. It worked

I've never been asked, but serious question, what happens if the card you used is stolen, and you can't present it?

that is normally only asked for IF the transaction is very recent. older items that already reflect on their bankstatement and has been marked paid, they normally do not aak for the card.

I'd give a copy to my mate, it's just the front anyway. Would I give a copy to a stranger? Nope.

We don't book flights on Mango at work anymore because of their stupid rule. What is strange is if you book on SAA and it ends up being a Mango flight, they don't ask for your card.
