The second new ball should be available some time in the first session and that could play a pivotal role as well. As things stand, Australia need 7 more wickets, West Indies need to bat out 90 more overs or score 306 runs, which would result in a famous victory. Let's not talk about that for now.

Anyone think Pakistan have a small chance if they bat once and england collapse day 5? I doubt it as these pitches don't seem to break up.

Rawalpindi has traditionally been as flat as the N1. The smart money would have been on a high scoring draw before England's second innings, but right now I'm actually backing Pakistan to take this one.

Drinks. Easily England's first hour so far. Imam and Shakeel started with two fours in the first two overs, but England packed the field and bowled very tight, forcing Pakistan into a shell. The result was Imam edging a ball down leg with some tentativeness. Rizwan has joined Shakeel but he's faced 23 balls and is yet to open the account. To keep Rizwan calm is no small achievement. Pakistan have scored only 5 runs in the last 12 overs and that's a shocking rate for this Test match. Apparently the night was pretty cold yesterday. Interestingly, some early morning moisture was said to be there and we did see nice carry. Once it dries out will be see more shots?

They could still lose 15 to 20 overs because of the smog / bad light. Looks like smog on the tv anyways.

So 120 plus I’d say in the 2nd session should make it more likely. They got 89 in the first.

65 overs left but could lose a few of those to bad light. Pakistan can definitely do this but at the same time, they can't dawdle. They may need to get a move on. Curious what may happen if they're offered the light with 20 or 30 needed. Might depend on how many wickets are down.

I think the umpires decide for them these days based on light meter readings.

Remember faf did something similar in a day-night game vs AUS. We declared whilst still conceding a lead but faf wanted to take advantage of the conditions. We still woulda lost either way I reckon.
