Cricket: International Discussion Thread

Sums it up pretty well. Will be interesting to see if Stokes and Baz stick to their guns, or whether they capitulate to the increasing calls from the pundits to play sensibly. The same pundits who have been singing their praises, by the way. Will show integrity if they do, but I think the better man makes the more sensible decision.

Effectively 5 down if Lyon can't bat. Wobbling a bit here with a lead of 'only' 281

"What is the highest run chase at Lords in Test cricket?

Their magnificent run chase of 342 back in 1984 remains the highest successful run chase on this ground. "

1000 :p

Probably in the region of 350+ lead, which will be beyond England to get.
Most of the pundits have it at around 350 as well, but as comical as I find England's approach, they are a good chasing team. Always a first for everything. I'd have hoped for 420+.

It's going to be funny if Australia fall for their own strategy here. They should ride the ball for 10-15 overs and tire the bowlers out. They've got enough time, surely.

The Aussies are looking comfortable with the runs on the board from the way the last few wickets have fallen. Cummins is also playing shots out there, not trying to play time like Green and Carey earlier.

England bowling so many 'wides' and 'head high balls' . The umps should start looking at extras and not waste time.

I think they have plenty of runs now. 350 already and that's not going to be easy to get.

One thing you can say for bazball...the Aussies are scared enough of England's scoring rate to ask Lyon to torture himself just to eat up time.
