Right. 84 runs for India. England need five wickets, or maybe even one if that one happens to be Kohli's. As things stand, it is Sam Curran's blitz at the end of the second innings that is going to be the difference. So, save your hearts, for tomorrow promises to break many. It's setting up to be a repeat of that 2005 epic. Do join us then, until we meet next, ta ta!!

Nice that Sky sports hired Kumar Sangakkara as a commentator, he's nice to listen to. Harbhajan is also interesting to listen to.
 
Got to see the end of the game. From the position they were in, the Indians will be immensely disappointed to have coughed this one so badly. Respect to the Poms for not giving up. At least the game went to the fourth day. Not many games seem to these days.

Bowler gets long ban for bad sportsmanship

A bowler in the Somerset cricket league is to serve a nine-game ban after a bizarre piece of bad sportsmanship in a match on Sunday which deprived an opposing batsman a possible century.

The Purnell CC bowler – who has been spared the humiliation of being named – chucked the ball to the boundary to concede five runs and the match, leaving Minehead batsman Jay Darrell stranded on 98 not out.

The Somerset Cricket League said the incident "brought the SCL and cricket in general into disrepute" and "was against the spirit of the game".

It added: "As a result of this review, a Purnell CC player has been banned for the next nine completed SCL matches."

Minehead tweeted afterwards that it was "not nice to see" and, even though the Purnell captain "apologised to the batsman on behalf of his bowler", that "some things just can't be undone".

Darrell reacted in a more sportsmanlike manner than the offending bowler, phlegmatically declaring it was a "shame the way it ended but oh well".

Purnell's official account said "the unsavoury scenes to end the game can't be condoned" and both the bowler and the club's captain had apologised.
