Cricket: International Discussion Thread

England threw this game honestly. When they started the batting today it was aggressive but a bit reckless at times.
Betel and Smith showed they can’t handle pressure, otherwise England did fine.

India also messed up enough times.

Another great series. It will be a while before we see something this good again.

The next decent to watch cricket is the ashes in Australia. That should be 4 - 1 to the Aussies. If England are lucky.
We play Pakistan in October , Pakistan not released the fixture list yet.
We then tour India early December.

White ball tours to Aus starting Sunday. Then September in England.

Yeah, I am talking about proper test cricket. White ball cricket is boring.

Yeah. We have two tests where India will beat us.
We haven’t won since we got lucky in 2000
We have drawn quite a few there. Last 2/3 series have been disasters thought. Hopefully we can change things.

Hmm, could be closer than that. Think we can all agree that the Australian batting line up in is a bit of a shambles at the moment. They have got phenomenal batters who can destroy a bowling line up, but they have also shown a fragile side. Yes, they will be at home but the English seamers will back themselves on those fast bouncy wickets. I wouldn't blame England if they went there feeling quietly confident, especially if they go at full strength.

England need wood and archer fit and in form, otherwise their bowling is lacking bite.
They only have 3rd and 4th seamers.

The Aussies don’t have a top 3 right now. Their bowling is as good as it gets.

Aussies won't prepare these batting friendly tracks for bazzball. They will back smudge to get them a score on bowler friendly tracks and back their 4 ATG attack.

Also its already 1-0 as there is a pink test and we know no one beats Starc in those.

There is also the small issue of England's bowlers being very injury prone. Don't see them lasting 5 tests. The Aussie seamers outside of Hazlewood are not injury prone.

I enjoyed this series, however, I missed the last ball as my Dstv stream bombed out and would not reconnect. Eish!
