CRICKET: SA v India

smith had to take light into account and take a gamble. Some are still saying he declared too late in the innings...thought it was fine...we really need a good session 2moro morning and pray no rain falls as well.
 
Yip also thought it was fine.couldnt afford to wait any longer.

I would have liked to see it come earlier. Between a lead of 300 and 320. If the last four days are anything to go by, we can't expect much more than 60 or 70 overs tomorrow! India may be able to block their way to a draw. Although, Nel and Ntini look ready for a war, missiles and all. Man I hope we knock them off.
 
yup hopefully they can get 8wickets as india did in the morning session.

ps. are they starting early? i rememebr other tests that got started early when alot of time was lost due to light/rain.
 
I think the declaration was too late. We lost a lot of overs today

I agree, an earlier declaration might have seen them try to actually chase the target, rather than just block out a draw in howevermany overs we get in tomorrow...
 
Look, India's win in the first test was a bit of a freak thing (India are quite honestly,hopeless), and the match as it stands now, and taking into account that India, are very, very, mediocre at best - wouldnt be able to bat the full day tommorrow, even if we got a full days game.
 
Look what happen to England in the 3rd test, they also wanted to go for the draw, and woops. Australia took them now.

But that was the Aussies and their chirping.
 
India are hopeless and unfortunately we are as well....We just needed 50 more runs in the first innings at jhb and we could've done better but it's history. Want to see Munaf Patel come back...should be interesting.

the same could be said about SA :) batting a full day... not with this team playing like it is..
 
SA does play a pretty mean ODI, But, as it is now, tests are really poor.

For me, i just see this SA side performing quite dysfunctional in the test arena - and its because we know how well they can play. (i suppose i'm really only comparing it to Hansies era - and thats all we can do).

Hell, i dont want to see SA ranked at no.6 (no.2 will do.. lol).
 
09:30 - light offered to Indians, play unlikely to resume anytime this morning. *sigh*

I think we shouldn't host test matches in Durbs anymore....well until they can sort out their weather :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I must say that with the cloud cover in Dbn today, the Indians must close to being offered the light. :mad:
