There was definite movement of the ball, you could see the seam change direction.
Agreed, he definitely gloved it. You could see an indentation on the glove when the ball brushed it.

Shoiab Akthar is retiring from cricket at the end of this WC.

What a talent he was. took 170+ wickets in only 46 tests at an avg of +-25.

It's a pity he didn't play more tests for Pakistan.

I think he should still play Twenty20s... hes only in the side coz Amir and Asif are out...
Still bowled the fastest ball in the world.

Do you think Smith should have walked?

No this is a profesional era, only the silly batsmen walk. Umpires are there to make the decisions no need to make it for them.

On the one angle yes but on another it looked like it missed the glove. So like I said it was inconclusive. So not enough evidence to overturn the decision. Without hotspot these edges/glove decision will always be controversial because it will not be clear.

Hash walks and I wouldn't call him silly. it proves he is a true gentleman in the game.

Now thats a stupid reply.

I would have thought it was quite possible that Smith didnt feel it.

You guys go and ask a lot of the great players. They feel you shouldn't walk. Simple because umpires give you out when you aren't out , so by not walking when are out you are making up for the other occasions.

People can disagree if they want but I don't like seeing batsmen walk. Its not cheating imho. Batsmen are there to bat till the umpires gives him out.

I would, he and gillchrist could have much more runs if they didn't walk. There is a reason why the walking batsmen is the exception...

Come on WI!!!

Knock these poms out!!

Breaking news! Paul the Octopus in a surprise message from the great beyond has predicted a hammering of the Poms in today's epic encounter with the Windies.

England have won the toss and decided to bat first.

Does anyone know if SABC is televising the Eng vs. W/I game at all? Please don't tell me they didn't buy rights to this game.
Why show the SA/IRE highlights when there is such an important game on at the moment

Overheard on 702: "SA needs to drop its cricket captain for an extra batsman" :D

As many have said before and many will say in years to come... SABC = Epic Fail ;)

It's on ESPN Cricinfo. Good commentary, good stats, god banter.

Stepped away from the desk/computer and when I come back, there's a wicket... going to do that more often :D
