Cricket world cup discussion thread

yesterdays game was a cracker. however, there should be some worries in both camps.

England's worry: Anderson got hammered. England should leave him out of their team if he continues to perform like that. also they were cruising yesterday and threw away the victory. Englands fielding was also crap yesterday. this is the second game now were their fielding was poor.
India's worry: the fact that they cannot defend 330 must be a huge worry for them. their bowling yesterday was poor. their fielding was pathetic.

Gayle hasn't really fired yet. And the Windies just don't look that convincing yet.

And do to throw my sentiment into tailspin, here's Pollard with 19 in a over

He'll probably fire when it's time to eliminate another team. Hope he doesn't pull a Lara '96 against us if we meet them in the knockout stages.

Pollard is justifying his place in the team by bashing the minnows about.

Netherlands should have played to their strength and batted first after winning the toss. They're getting creamed under the pressure of chasing a large total.

This world cup will turn out to be a farce. So many games are meaningless, the minnows are all getting beat. Maybe the associate teams should have a different world cup..... * like the paralympics *

It is quite possible that SA will not face Aussies or the other big guns on their way to winning the world cup.

Seems like " Mr Cricket " could make a shock return to the Aussie team after Bollinger's injury.

He will pretty much walk back into the team at 5/6.

Hopefully that elimination will be the Aussies? :D

On his day, like Pathan, they can demolish most bowling attacks.

Wow! That'll be a great get for the Aussies!

Was a little one sided in both games today. And quite an anti-climax after yesterday's tie. Still, pleased for Zim and their win no matter who their opposition was.

Sri Lanka v Kenya today. Sorry for Kenya, but this looks like another one-sided match up.

SL will no doubt be trying to get their net run rate up. Apart from that *yawn* :p

*yawn* indeed.

Some games just dont make sense.

I would rather have the 8 best teams with a round robin league system and top 4 going on to semi's.

That will be just 30 games including final. And one can get to see everybody play everybody else.

How wrong was I about Netherlands beating West Indies - one swallow doesn't make doesn't make a summer.
