Graeme Smith says he'd have bowled as well because of the overcast conditions. Everyone's fit for South Africa. They've made one change, and are playing Morne van Wyk instead of Johan Botha.

Nope, this is an experimental team and we would never field this team against stronger opposition. 7 specialist batsen and 4 specialist bowlers with Kallis, Duminy and Du Plessis making up the 5th bowler.

I predict a huge total and then Netherlands losing some early wickets (Steyn/Morkel) and crashing for around 150.
 
Having a 7th specialist batsman against Netherlands and batting first makes no sense. I doubt if he'll even bat today!!
 
Smith is out

Loots to Smith, OUT, bowled him! Smith stays in his crease and tries to force a good length ball angling into him from round the wicket on the leg side. He played across the line and missed completely, Loots hit leg stump and uprooted it.

Kallis out too

Round about now the decision to throw Van Wyk into the team will be imperative to a decent total if we carry on losing wickets like this.

Once again I can't see the game :o So anyone watching see what's the story?
 
Im not watching either. Just feels like the rate we are going at is not good enough. Holland almost got 300 against England, although I rate there bowling weaker than ours.

Setting and chasing totals come with different pressures. Whilst they have shown the ability to score runs, chasing a set total is whole different ball game. Thus importance that we build a decent target.
 
Morne might just play keeper..... :erm:


AB seems to be in excellent form....

Hash is a tad lucky to still be aorund....:D.... he looks well set for another ton:p

Steyn and Tahir will demolish the Dutch :cry:
