Choked, the Porteas choked!!!

The worst part are the "fans" that are defending the Proteas!!
I support the Springboks, but I also love how the fans criticise them! They not endearing at all they attack them and bring about change, the Proteas on the other hand, the fans defend them even when they stuff up? How does that work?

It's called not being a fair weather supporter. Unlike you, we don't throw rocks at their bus or tell them not to come home after a bad one. We would much rather pat them on the back, have a beer and say 'better luck next time'. Cos unlike you, we don't expect them to be unbeatable all the time, we give credit to the opposition where credit is due. England played better on the day.

So tell us, when did sport stop being sport to you?

Well aren't you an assuming loaf of ...
I only support their style of cricket, always have, I hate textbook cricket.

Its you and these fools here that think there's a hidden agenda, there isn't. Until the Proteas played a style of cricket I'm more familiar with I can't support them. Its like football supporters, you either like the English style, Spanish, Brazilian or Itallian... I prefer the way the Pakis and Sri Lankans bowl, the batting style of the sub continental players.
Simple as that.

Yea but jk dude as much as i get so mad with our team, i support them because i am SA, i think there is a difference between a SA supporting an english or spanish league but if you come from a country you support them no matter who they are :D.

I do like how you get everyone so worked up though and suck em in hahaha. The only thing i dislike about our team is the negative approach to everything. Rather lose by 6 runs than go for the shots and lose by 50 or possibly win. In my opinion losing by 100 or 1 is the same thing, i would get less angry knowing we tried and lost by 100 than knowing we tried to block our way to a win and lost :D. We are only such chokers because we are scared. More worried about losing than winning. You just go out and try win and obviously this slow negative way we go about it does not work and never changes so we will never win a world cup until there is positive energy through out the team.

Granted net run rate is a problem but still positive energy wins the day!!!!! ask the aussies why they have won 30 odd world cup matches in a row, they don't block and play negative.

I still support my country be it footie, cricket, rugby.

You're talking to a Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi supporter, where you vent your criticism by stoning their (and sometimes their opposition's) bus and homes.

No point in breaking spleen over his/her rants and blind criticisms. Long decided it best to overlook Quattro's nonsense. You're debating with someone who would do well to start his/her own [-]thread[/-] monologue, as it would/should be an extremely lonely place ;)

I feel super ill when we lose through ineptness - to the extent that I can't stand to watch and have to go and do something else.

It just feels so......humiliating

I love cricket but the 50 over world cups a s-o d-r-a-w-n o-u-t even I lose interest. And these associate games are a joke. Who are they kidding that they will improve with exposure to the world cup? So a handful of games every four years is going to help them raise their standard???

+1 and the minnows get hammered by the big teams to get their run rate up... And when they do get a win they spoil the tournament because the chances of them of doing well in the knock out stages are poor.

This will be the last as per ICC

More strength versus strength comps are needed.

Lame. Ban the C word lol, does he know his name starts with C?

A choke is a choke, the tag is there and will always be there, even if they win this WC and mess up in the next WC, they will still hold the chokers tag.
Its like the Pakis and match fixing, it will always be a cloud above their heads, deal with it!
I have far more respect for Mr Bryden... he DOES know what he's talking about.

To label the defeat as a “choke” is ridiculous. It was hardly a must-win game because South Africa are well on course for a place in the knock-out phase.

Absolutely agree.
