Improvement? What improvement? The Pakis held their hand and walked them into a win. Perhaps the bookies will make alot of the people now betting on NZ thinking they a changed side.

As that was one of strongest performances I have seen in some time from the Pakis, yes, the Blacks Caps have a real chance of going at least to semis

Sri Lanka didn't host the final, they co-hosted parts of the tournament as they are doing now.

Think of the world cup hosted here - if Zimbabwe or Kenya won the tournament, would they have been considered the host country seeing that the majority of matches and all knockout games (including the final) were hosted by SA?

Actually yes. It's not up to you but the ICC to determine who is classified as a host nation. In 1996 Sri Lanka co-hosted the tournament, a two way street, and won.
