I get tired of being labeled a 'racist' 'cos I complain about crime.... are the Soweto students racists too? Can the resident "Crime has a percption problem" chaps answer this?

Soweto pupils have had enough of crime.

And on Wednesday they took to the streets to demonstrate against acts of violence that have left at least two schoolmates dead.

So angry were the pupils that when an accused in one case tried to leave the Protea magistrate's court they wanted to attack him and threatened to burn down his house.

What?!! Whoever said crime only affects whites? According to stats, crime affects mainly black people
 
Noooo .. that's not right either.
According to the statistics, crime only affects those people who report the crimes and insist on a docket/case number.
I gave up reporting them when I gave up on insurace.
 
If all the Whites have left the country, who will they blame next? - Bloody Idiots!.

Why is the question asked "Crime only affects the whites -REALLY- ?".

Is it because there is a perception that "Crime only affects the whites" or because somebody said "Crime only affects the whites". Just asking

Who ever said crime only affects whites? It must be becuase they are mostly the ones we read about in the media.

He actually posted a link with a lot of young black learners complaining about crime. Even on this very forum there are black people that have said crime is out of control.
 
Thread title needs work. It's too easy for people who are so inclined to twist the intent. As the OP stated, crime is a problem for black and white, and there's nothing racist in complaining about it.

I was refering to the spate of Media saying "The affluent whites complain the most about the level of crime" cant remember where the article was, but it was pre-Mbeki speech.

Just thought I had to point out that the Black African nation is also pissed off... not just the whiteys.
 
So is it the press that has created the impression that it is only whites that complain about crime? There would be a certain sense of irony in that.

Would you say a perception about "The affluent whites complain the most about the level of crime" brings a perception that "Crime only affects the whites -REALLY- ?"

OR

A perception about "The affluent whites complain the most about the level of crime" brings a question "Don't Black people complain as much too?"

THEN

We could look into reasons why such a perception exist given the fact that Black People have been living with crime for decades (At least, as long as I lived).

Stoppit. There is a reason we live in prizons mkay. Some people cannot afford to build as strong prisons, but they still live in them. There's no need to go around comparing each others prisons.

This damn racial comparison that goes on in this country, and fueled by our stupid guavamint needs to fscking stop.. NO solutions can be found until ppl STOP blaming the past for everything...
 
What the hell is wrong with you? We are all living in a crime ridden country. Period. Crime affects us all, whether violence takes our loved ones or we pay more for services and goods, we are all affected.
