Let's keep this to personal encounters -

I've had two towels stolen from the last Splashy Fenn I attended this year.

I had a bike stolen out of my parents yard when I was about 10.

In the past 12 months:

credit card fraud, burglary, computer crime, two pyramid schemes, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, attempted identity theft, assault, attempted murder, solicitation by a prostitute, bribery.

So far ive only had something stolen once because I honestly knew it was going to happen, I wasn't careful.

Car was parked unprotected and they stole the radio, I didn't remove the cover. I expected it the day before though. (Its a crap car so don't care)

So never ever anything besides that.

You move in the wrong circles!

Did you do all those things?

Was it done to you?

Burglary a year ago, they took jewelry, clothing, electronic and computer equipment. Luckily it happened during the day whilst we were not at home.

Solicitation by a prostitute - in Cape Town.

Mugged - missed hitting that retard in the head with 9mm by about an inch. Took cell phone but that was recovered by the cops within a week.

Worst things stolen - back up CD ROMS and ID documents. And the worst of those is my NAUI dive card because that is the real biyatch to replace.

And what's the first thing people say when you tell them about a crime where you as a person were personally involved in? You're lucky to be alive

That's where we are as a country. Robberies, rape, armed assault and torture is part of everyday life, but as long as you come away with your life you're lucky.
**** you I'm lucky if I win a million rand on the lottery.
I want my home to be my castle not my prison. I pay taxes and I want protection. I want freedom and I want my human rights and the animal who wants to kill me for my cellphone/car/TV should have his revoked.

The strange thing is that mine happened in Bloem (stole car radio out of the car), and none since moving to JHB, AND I drove a Velociti. Someone must be looking after me. :)

When I used to stay in kraaifontein with my parents.

First week we moved in.

Everything that had a plug and wasn't a major appliance(fridge, washing machine) was stolen.
Car was broken into.
Cellphones stolen.
Random old crap stolen from the backyard(Had metal in it)
House broken into again and all the appliances stolen once again :/
Garage broken into and my da's tools stolen(some stuff like the hammers came from my grandad :( ).
Once they even stole our garden hose. Funny thing is that wallacedene burnt down a few weeks later again and I had a vengeaful laugh at them thinking to myself "u prbly need it now a bit more he?"

Since I moved out

First apartment my brothers clothes got stolen from the laundry lines.
PC equipment once.

And in August 2006 a guy tried to mug me at the station. Got him arrested and convicted!!! :D Though it did take about 6 months to happen......which he spent locked up waiting for the trail :) Funny thing is that when I approached the security guards at the station to tell them that this man tried to rob and threaten my life they asked me "what do i want to do about it?".......I was a bit shocked and angry for that statement for a while.

House broken into in excess of 10 times.. Lost count really. One guy did it while I was at home, he is bloody lucky to still be alive, I was so flipping mad when I saw him, that if I had caught him, I would have killed him.
