When my customers (I am a dealer) get ADSL, none of them sign the 2 year contract with Telscum. Guess what happens: the TS techies get there, but refuse to install a filter or a splitter. No - one has to go & buy it from Telscum's offices.
When I buy a new car, I do not expect to be referred to a tyre dealer before I can drive it out of the shop, or am I missing something here?

I didn't get a contract, and the Telscum tech installed a splitter box.
You usually have to buy your own filters though.

Same problem with our clients - and to make matters worse, the techies are incapable of working any router except the macaroni router.
So, for R450 telkom walks into the office, act confused, and then we go out - for free.

Actually, some techies are incapable of working even the macaroni routers ;)
The guy who installed my line barely even knew what ADSL was.

I suppose you cannot blame him really - a months salary for him to have ADSL and a MASSIVE(!) 3GB usage :D

I didnt get the Telkom Kit (nor did I sign a contract) but the Netgear modem I bought had a Splitter/Filter in the box.
