CRM for small business.

I am looking for a Customer Relationship Manager for a small business..

Can anyone recommend something for small business thats not pricey?
I am a big supporter of open source, so if I am going to pay for anything I would rather pay for that but free would also be nice.

Vtiger is free, but I wouldnt want to waste time on a crappy product just because its free...

Madman, with respect to where/how you install, what implementation are you planning? IOW: on a desktop/server on a LAN, or web-accessible - and therefore a web server? If you're into homebrew/etc. you could call the guys at OpenNetworks for a hosted solution.

Start with the results of a quick GOOG, the top names are pretty much SugarCRM, vTiger, OpenCRX and hipergate. Also see this article.

I have a similar question: does anyone have feedback on any of these, specifically WRT vTiger, the one I favour, effectively because that can run hosted on a web server so people in physically separate locations can jack in and work from said different locations - great for when you 'n your biz partner(s)/cow-orkers prefer to work from notebook, etc.

I doubt vTiger is crappy, it's been around too long and that's one tough game to play in...

We Use Surgar.. because we started out with it and the staff... know it... it can do everything.. we use a very small part of it and the outlook integration we had to write ourselves....

vTiger we evaluated and it is a very good product

I use Sugar and it does everything I need it to do. Have never used any other product so I can't compare....

I have seen that there are a couple of the other services as well http://www.freecrm.com, but you have to pay $15pm for encrpytion and unlimited storage, but either way I have heard one or 2 good things about it ...
