Some time back in a NAG mag, they had an article comparing Crossfire to SLI.
At the end of the article it was mentioned that it is possible to run an ATI & a Nvidia card off the same mobo.

They also provided a link to a TomsHardware webpage that showed how to do it.

Is this still possible with todays mobos/gfx cards?

Any ideas/opinions/links?

not sure, simply put, the intel mobo's don't support SLI, the SLI mobo's don't support crossfire, so it would be tough...

But it seems as though itel might be working on making there next gen mobo(for Nehalem) able to support sli and xfire...
And i think Nvidia want's to get there mobo's to support xfire as well as sli...

I get what you're saying, but Im not talking about a mobo that supports both Crossfire & SLI,im talkin of being able to run an ATI & Nvidia card at the same time

(Example a GTX 260 & a 4870XT together off a Crossfire/SLI mobo)
Apparently,it can/has been done...

Oh, then yes, you can, however, you will be forced to disable one of the cards, which I'm guessing isn't a problem...

But why would you want to do this? maybe to experience the thrill of PhysX and still have 800 stream processors?

EDIT:

After a little search, i found a guy that wanted you use a 8600gt for cuda and a X1800xt for graphics, and it only works if you using xp...
Seems like vista won't allow this :(
