The new X38 motherboard supports Crossfire right. Does that mean you can only run dual or quad ATI graphic cards or will cards by Nvidia work as well?

I do not think SLI works on a Crossfire board... Not entirely sure, though...

Maybe someone can elaborate further?

But a single NVIDIA card should work just fine, of course

Just want to make sure. Coz as far as I know you need a nForce chipset to use 2 or more Nvidia cards in sli.

You can run sli on a crossfire board but it's no recommended and it requires hacked drivers.
