Hi I'm in the market for a crossover SUV. I was very close to buying the Ford EcoSport, but after test driving the Mazda CX-3 and feeling the power I decided to think about it a little longer. Would love to stick with the Toyota family, but the RAV 4 price is a stretch. Would be great if the Corolla Crossover was coming soon, but doubt that.

Peugeot 2008 Turbo

Don't dick about with an EcoSport.

New Peugeot 2008 is coming to SA in Q4 of this year, based on the reviews I would wait for that.

Otherwise, the Mazda is not a bad choice if you need to buy a car now.

Based on info from our head office, we might only see the new Peugeot 2008 by early next year.

We hope....

Yaris crossover is only coming in 2021. And the Hyundai Kona is nice but I see the options are limited in SA.

Go for a Vitara.
Beware of any engine that has a cambelt instead of a cam chain.

My best friend had the CX3. Also compared it to the Ecosport. After test driving both, as soon as he got out of the CX3 he signed the OTP.

He had the 2L Dynamic with the 6 speed auto. Also bit of an outdoorsy person so did a fair bit of gravel with it. In town it was nippy and drove like a dream. Think fuel economy was also around 13km per liter, which was not bad for a 2l auto.

Drove it myself once, and if I was poorer, I would not mind driving one at all.;)

As others have said, if you’d like to stick with Toyota then have you considered the CH-R? It’s their competitor to the CX-3, EcoSport etc. The Rav4 is from one category up, so it will naturally be more expensive.
