Cryptocurrency Mining

Anyone wanting to monitor stock changes on Bitmain can use this redneck monitor I knocked together - on one condition, that you report any changes in here as you notice them:

Download the zip here
Code:
- Create a folder on C: (e.g. C:\BMCheck)
- Unzip to that folder
- Create a new Windows scheduled task to check the site
  - Trigger=Daily, every x minutes (don't make it less than 10 otherwise you may be blocked by their DDOS monitor)
  - Action = Start a program.
    Program = wscript.exe
    Arguments = "C:\BMCheck\hidden.vbs" "C:\BMCheck\check.bat"
Obviously replace C:\BCMCheck with the location you unzipped to.

What it does is check the main product page for any changes to the underlying html - this could include anything from unavailable products being available again for purchase, or price changes, etc. so could include false positives. It also checks the L3+ and D3 miner individual pages for changes. Since they sometimes change the product page URL when they open them up for sale again, monitoring the main product page is necessary. It may not be necessary to monitor the individual product pages but I've included them just in case.

If any change is detected, a windows popup appears asking if you want to visit the page that changed.
Shout if you have any issues using it.
Awesome!!

Simple question if you had 100k now to buy a mining rig/rigs what would you buy?

2x Bitmain D3, 1x Bitmain L3+
Except you can't buy the D3 or the L3 right now - sold out.
I'll let the PC mining experts confirm their choice.

I concur... Although i suspect you can afford two L3plus and one D3...Remember you need 3 psu. Shipping plus duty

^^Yes - duty and PSUs will kill it - so maybe the other way around... or 2x D3 and then after ROI order some L3+

If i could order and pay for two d3 and one L3plus will spend two days doing victory dance. Lol

Added Start in = "C:\BMCheck" to the instructions for the bitmain monitor above.

Going to try. We should just have a WhatsApp group similar to people on carbonite. Whoever sees stock first sends message in group

Btc, ethereum, civic and sia.

30 30 30 10

None of those are rigs ;)

Back to the subject of Antminers... One thing that bugs me in the design is the fact that the individual heat sinks are glued on.

I'd prefer a spring loaded mechanism.
They almost always look the same inside. What I'd love to know is whether certain models are interchangeable with a different firmware. I get the feeling the ASICs are unique for individual models... or there are other upgrades/config changes across models... but I could be wrong.
I do wish they'd design a more modular system with interchangeable boards to slow down the landfill effect. They (and us) really aren't doing the planet any favours.

*EDIT* I read up on it and can confirm that the hardware is developed to do one job and one only - so an SHA-256 ASIC can't do Scrypt hashing and vice versa etc.

*The monitor has just told me there's a change to the main page... /off to check
*EDIT* Looks like they just shuffled things around - Power Supplies now feature as the first item on the page.
