:D I think what I mean and probably dont quite understand yet is for example, the Antminer, for that machine is lets say 60k.
You can surely build a better machine that will be more profitable for the same money?
Or a slightly less expensive one that wont stop being as profitable so quick?

Sorry guys I am trying to wrap my head around all of this

$1600 D3
$1100 PSU
$500 shipping
------
$2200
------
Import duties and VAT?? Maybe $40%
$3080

That's give or take R40k max

ROI after landing ashore is less than 1 month at current rates (though that will change).


Home built machine? Your turn :)

Lol.. Far as I know I will end up paying 60k for 2 D3 miners and psu after duty. They currently do abot 180k a month. I am hoping they do 60k for one month when they arrive. After they can do less and less for six months.

I saw some guy selling an L3 for 60k :confused: may be wrong slightly on model

I think the problem with a home built one is you need to know damn well what items to purchase for max revenue, so while its easier for the Antminer, do you still not think you will get more bang for buck on a home built?

I paid 1600 dollars x 2 plus 200 shipping. Psu are 105 each so x2 plus shipping 300 dollars. Litecoin miners were cheaper but more as linked to ltc price

I am new. These are my first and I am waiting on deliver. I suspect there's a new ltc miner coming. Wait for that or try get d3 when there is stock tomorrow

Yeah, I wouldn't buy from anyone but Bitmain direct right now. You can get them from Bitmart (not related at all to Bitmain) but then it's hoes en betaal. Bitmain's shop here:

Bitmart buy a bunch from Bitmain and resell... so they have stock of some but they mark them up something chronic. And those in stock I would not doubt that they run them while they find buyers...

Warranty on PC components is better if you buy the consumer graphics cards - like 3 years on some vs 6 months on Bitmain stuff, so that's an issue.
For return - have a look at the spreadsheet I provided for that.

I think that's a bit of a stretch to be honest, but still, the D3 should definitely klap the L3+ in terms of raw profitability.
