I have recently purchased the spares for my pc... but have not put them together.

My specs are as follows:

dual core E2180
hd4850 gpu
(2x512) ddr2 800mhz oc gold ram,dual channel
19inch monitor
foxconn g31-mx k mobo

I wanna know if il be able to play crysis on this system maxed out, would i need to overclock the cpu to do so?would the cpu bottleneck my gpu?

how much do you think i paid for all that with a dvd writer, 420w psu, gaming case and basic speakers

No, you will not be able to play crysis maxed out, even if you overclock your cpu. Firstly, you need at least twice as much ram to even play it with decent graphics settings. What size is your graphics card? E2180, is that 2.8/2.6 Ghz? Do you have Vista/XP?

Played the 1st crysis on my E2180 (stock 2Ghz), 1x1GB 800Mhz RAM and 256MB 8500GT 19inch (1440x900).... I think I got it to half to be able to play - high was a no go zone.

Wanna do 3GHz overclock with 3x1GB RAM and 512MB-GForce 9600 :)

Please don't bring God's PC into this...

yes, of course....I was on...wait, what?

go hang around the Fable 2 threads, Console folk don't give good advice when it comes to PC's, especially if they don't even know what an E2180 is, or even crysis for that matter. :D :D

Having an E2180 is a "crysis" in itself... :p Seriously, my PC knowledge might be a bit rusted up these days (only use it for work), but I keep up to date on technologies and software pretty intently. I keep my console knowledge up to date as well, just because I'm such a lucky owner of an XBOX. Knowledge is power man... you seem to lack it in the console department... ;)

(A good old saying still applicable today: Don't knock it until you try it...)

I'm sure there are a lot of people gaming with the E2180(even OCed one's). You do need more ram though for Crysis to really enjoy the game... Not gonna be playable if everything is on high. :D

And ram ain't that expensive. The rest of the pc ain't that bad. You thinking of OCing in the future?

I tried playing the Crysis demo on my Pavilion laptop a year or two ago... :o

(GF7600 512MB, 2GB RAM, Core 2 Duo 2.0GHZ...)

yes, owning an xbox that hasn't died yet, consider yourself very lucky indeed.
just don't use the on/off button too much and you should be fine :D

there is absolutely nothing to be learned from an xbox, all one can basically do is read game reviews for "knowledge", unless you need to be up to date on the latest steering wheel / joystick news.

bah...no thanx.
