Electronic Arts sent out a press release announcing Crysis Warhead, the PC-only first person shooter set in "the parallel story to Crysis." The game is being developed in Crytek's Budapest studio using the CryENGINE 2 for release this fall.

In Crysis Warhead, players will don the Nanosuit of Sergeant Sykes, also known as 'Psycho', one of the most memorable characters from Crysis. More brash and aggressive than his Delta Force squadmate Nomad, players will experience Psycho's parallel story during the events of the original game, finding that life on the other side of the island is even more intense and explosive than they ever could have imagined. Luckily, Psycho's Nanosuit is just as capable and he's equipped with an even bigger arsenal of fully customizable weapons and new vehicles, giving players access to the tools they need to dominate any situation. Aside from this new, exciting single player campaign, Crysis Warhead will also feature new multiplayer content. Stay tuned for more details this summer.

I first thought "cool" when I heard about this but when I found out it's basically the same game but with a different character, I thought "sucky" ....... what a waste of money to play the same game over again :(

Well, if it's done correctly it could work well. Valve did it best with it's Opposing Force and Blue Shift expansions for Half-Life1.

But this is going to be a whole new game not an expansion, which is stupid if you ask me.

well i have to play Crysis first to comment

Crysis is a very very very good game.
But once you've played it thru once, there is no real way of playing it again, you might be able to do some things differently but ultimately, it's just boring after you've finished it.

I am however, looking forward to a continuation to the ending you see in Crysis.

well thats good enough for me since i don't normally play a game through again once i completed it. unless there's something different i can do or archive...which hasn't happened yet.... i think...

You should try Fallout 2... that is an amazing example of computer gaming!
I finished that game 6/7 times and EVERYTIME I got a different ending.
I wish we had more games like that.
I know there is more endings in say, STALKER, but it's not as "OPEN" ended as Fallout 2, actually, no game has come close.

Fahrenheit was a very "open" game. anyone agree?

.... there is no continuation bru ... it's just the same game but from the perspective of 'Psycho' .... that's why it sucks :o

Looking forward to it. Who cares if it's more of the same if it was so good to start with:cool:
