Hi,

I've not completed the Crystal Training, I have read books and did Google searches. I have been using it for about 5 years now and have taught myself all the way.

Its a great reporting tool for rapid report deployments, but it has - along with all the others) some idiosyncrasies that you learn as you go along :)

Good luck with the studies if you do go

Hi Wong,

I would say reading the manuals is a good way to get a broad idea of everything. Like most people I more worked with the product and refer back to manuals as you need to do something very specific. Are you currently working in the industry or looking for work? Also what is your expectations from doing the Crystal courses?

Send me a message and i'll give you more details on everything.

Jaco

Hi, Crystal is not that difficult, you can google your way through most of it, no need for a course really. I have been using since early days 8 years back and it works well. The main issues you might have problems with is the automation if doing from .net, passing parameters and then version issues between server and local Visual studio etc. But ways to get around, pm me if you need help. Yea, Crystal isn't difficult, useful to have if you are in SAP environment i suppose, but for alot of other companies it is SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) rather than Crystal.

Both technologies you can learn online via tutorials. I'd say the most difficult part of any reporting tool is writing the SQL/Database extraction procedures (or at least knowing the data).
