Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

Since Thursday I was also battling with slow internet plus the line disconnected often. The disconnection may be have been due the ADSL line that was problematic, but I cannot tell. This afternoon I saw an improvement and almost back to where it was.

Youtube - 480p fine. 720p bufferings every few seconds on 8-10 minute long videos
NNTP - Hit and miss between 20KB/s ~ 1MB/s
Torrent - Max 100KB/s

Area: Cape Town

Narrowed issue down to CW / IS as I don't have issue on another ISP.
 
Major streaming issues here as well. Normally stream 1080p with no buffering on Youtube - today had to go down to 360 as it is even buffering on 480.

Ororo is always on 720p, now it's buffering on 360.
 
I got a CW account but I am afraid even the Afrihost shapped capped accounts perform better. Will get it again after the cancellation. I had high expectations but they have surely not been met.
 
Could also barely stream Netflix last night. Very annoying. 4mb Premium Uncapped.
 
Damnit. Been having issues on AH for a week during peak and cancelled to move here but looks like it's not going to be any better here.

I'm basing this on the feedback I'm seeing here and it looks like the same issues we're having at Afrihost. I just don't want to move to a new ISP only to sit with the same problem.
 
Im on a xtreme home capped account, streaming is rarely at 1080p, mostly 720p to 540p.
Line also feels less snappy than on vox, could it be faster on a premium uncapped package?

I can second this. Everything just runs smoothly on Vox. My ping is very low with Vox consistently under 10ms.

Probably the same as many others have reported here - streaming issues is what I've seen here, and indeed commented on myself.

Most also don't even know this forum/thread exists, either. It's definitely worse than it has been.

Capped should be better than uncapped or did Crystal Web pull an Afrihost and nerf capped? I wasn't informed if that is the case.

In the past, no one complained and everything was great, now even though the vocal minority might not represent the entire network something IS definitely up.
 
Payed R1 for last month. I guess you get what you pay for. Cancelling with CW. I have never had so many issues with an ISP.

Well that's pretty evident. Struggling my ass off just to stream at 240p tonight.

I'm streaming 1080p and have 162ms LoL EUW...
Torrents are a bit slower though, about 700KB/s instead of my normal 1.1MB/s,
