Every day when I am at work, around the afternoon when my daughter and wife wants to use the Net the IS connection is DEAD SLOW. I have to switch to AH then from work to get it working, asking her to do a whatismyip.com thing on the IS acc etc.... Is it going to be like this with CW as well? I am not going to have a backup AH acc next month. :)

I had a backup AH account but I haven't needed to use it since about the 15th.
We do however use Hulu a lot which always streamis flawlessly.
Lately I have also noted that the streaming sites I spoke about in this thread previously have now also started streaming without issue.

Nah this is like dead in the water slow, mtn uncapped after the 3GB slow. :D

It won't be like that on the normal Crystal Web accounts. Unfortunately, just like other ISPs have suffered, we don't have control over the IS shaping, whereas we do on our primary backbone. Our accounts work during the day - we use them at all our locations.

They certainly have. ;)

But we can't always guarantee those services. We will however prioritise the legal options.

Do you have an official launch date yet?

Unfortunately not. Development is going strong on our end and you'll see that we've launched a new interim launching soon website on the weekend, with our various support functions. You can now chat live with a support agent, call them directly from your PC or Skype, log a support ticket, and check our twitter feed. You can also begin to submit new product and business ideas to us using the light bulb icon on the bottom left of the screen.

We have our support structures in place, and 24 hour support begins on 1 July. But the fully functional site will go live "when it's ready." In other words soon, but only once we're absolutely happy with it, and it has passed all testing on our end.

We are also now accepting a limited number of new accounts for July and August activation.

As for the international issue, it should be resolved by the beginning of next month and we'll have an update from our international partners in the next two days at which point I will update everyone.

Hi,

I have a sales ticket with you from today,Ticket#: 776316140, I would just to to have a final confirmation that that account will be working on the 1st of July. I need to cancel my Afrihost but I just want to make sure i'll have an alternate account come the 1st July.**

There was an issue with me replying the the emails sent via your ticket system so i actually have 2 tickets open,Ticket Number : 758036916 and 776316140.

Could you confirm all is in order so that I can cancel the AH account?

Thanks :D

All is perfect on our end and you should have received an email from our systems a few minutes ago welcoming you to Crystal Web.

Lovely to have you on board with us.

Correct you are, email arrived. Now I just await the invoice with the banking details on it...:D

Looking forward to giving you guys a shot, hopefully I have found an ISP that will actually let me use my account when I need to, like when I get home in the evenings.

All the best to you guys! Seriously, we need somebody who can actually adapt and offer services based on clients needs, and it seem you are off to a great start before you have even officially started.

This is also currently being automated on our end and you should receive an invoice shortly.

One of our goals is to offer internet that doesn't punish a user, whether it be day or night-time use. Obviously daytime use is managed based on network load by shaping p2p and nntp, but everything else works. In the evenings we release this shaping for our customers up to full line speed on p2p and nntp, and we're also trying to prioritise real-time protocols for video streaming. And this is for our entry-level products, so is the baseline for our product range.

There are some truly exciting offerings in the pipeline coming the way of our customers, so stay tuned for our official press releases and news articles on mybroadband, as well as a few competitions for mybroadband and mygaming members.

So basically IF you downloaded during the day, you would not suffer at night due to it, but you would be subject to shaping (real time) when downloading during the day?

Here's a slightly harder question:

All ISPs when starting out were great. They had enough capacity and you could download pretty well. After time though, the service just drops, in most cases by a big amount. What will be different about Crystal Web?

We shape p2p during the day. That's it. Currently there's minimal shaping on early-bird accounts, and when we launch the shaping will be based on a rolling window that determines how hard p2p is shaped while we finalise the p2p only during the day shaping policy.

Well, I can't really speak for other ISPs at all, but I can say that we have sufficient capacity for thousands more customers.

Ok so it seems that you do not support VDSL yet. Please let me know when you will.

Thanks..

We do on our capped accounts so long, and we're going to be introducing competitive capped rates very soon. We're also finalising 20 and 40Mbps uncapped pricing and shaping at the moment.

Current website looks amazeballs. Any ETA on the official launch?
