That happens very rarely. For example, i just did a test tracert to google and voila:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1

That's from that Tenda router that I got from a certain CEO for free, who went to great lengths to make it look like my latencies to GW2 stemmed from my Netgear DGN2200. Which wasn't the case. As I told him.

Ah well, free router is free. And it turns out I needed to use an Access Point in my flat due to walls, so I just bridged the 2.

:D Dr Openfield

I run 2 tenda's on one of my networks, no issues at all as long as the router does not handle the DHCP server side of things. lol

Swtor patch was very slow today, elder scrolls patch was fast. Rest seems ok. Had to switch to the backup isp to get anything over 50kbps for the swtor patch, managed 1.2mbps when switching to the other isp.

Is it still possible to get my 4 mb account transferred to IS backbone?

Unfortunately not this month, but the international issue will soon be resolved, promise.

If you're having any issues not related to the international troubles then please let support know so that we can investigate.

Would adding more customers make no difference or more screw up international speeds which are already crap?

Reason I ask, if adding more customers will make an already bad problem worse, why not first fix the problem before adding more customers? Just curious.

If adding more customers makes no difference, then just ignore my comment above.

Day 1 for me on CW and I'm generally a happy customer.

I did indicate earlier today that I was a bit disappointed in a speedtest result, but a bit later I posted that a http download maxed my line.
Earlier tonight I discovered that someone did a PS3 game update during that period. So apologies CW.

Ok back to cw after using is trial account.

Experienced some international issues namely instagram and google play downloads were nombing out.

On the plus sidr I streamed the world cup match without a hitch using the bbc sport app.

there isn't an absolute correlation between the number of customers and the severity of capacity constraints because of the multitude of factors that come into play (the fact that subscribers have different usage patterns for example), but yes it does stand to reason that irresponsibly taking on hordes of customers when there is a capacity constraint is going to end badly and so a careful look at what really is proper demand management needs to happen:

when it appeared that the additional load of our customers was adding strain onto the upstream providers and that contingency measures were not having the desired affect we closed our signups and migrated certain customers to another backbone. Various demand management events have taken place and there have been improvements in the international performance. The reason the international problem is not constant is precisely because it is related to a heavily loaded peak and so in addition to the major expansions in capacity we have been promised it has been necessary to spread the usage, which our signing of uncapped home customers has actually accomplished. If we were to hold off on subscriptions until the new connectivity comes on stream we are likely to see a situation in which the demand for that new capacity is significantly higher than what it would be if there was spread usage and this is also not ideal at least in the weeks immediately after capacity comes on stream.

We are monitoring the demand side of things and will not hesitate to restrict signups or take other measures - even if they are expensive for us as a business - to address the problems as they arise. We shown this to be part of our operating culture.

Haha, all is forgiven. :D

Great stuff on the streaming. The Google Play is a concern as it's locally cached. Please keep testing this to see if the problem continues so that we can look into it if need be.

Google play often bombs out on Mweb and AH also, or at least for me it does/did.

I've experienced this once or twice but it's not a recurring issue for me. Will go update my plethora of apps quickly and see how it works.

This is most likely the most honest no bull***** answer I have ever seen from an ISP representative on this forum. GOOD SHOW!

I can be honest, even if I had the worst Internet experience with CW which I don't, I would still stick with them because of this.

HI CW,

Just a quick update.. Great to be on the service for the last month and not having to use any backup connection for a change, and I remained on the actual CW service, after not taking up the IS alternate account whilst the international service awaits a hardware 'band-aid'.

Quick question, is the access to the News server now suspended, or may I have a technical issue that may need addressing? Get the following error: "[Errno 61] Failed to connect: (60, '[Errno 61] Connection refused') [email protected]:119"

Thanks for the compliments, the newsserver is experiencing a problem. The original ETA we were working with sees it out of commission until well after sunrise but the latest reports suggest that you system could connect within the next hour or so.

:D Great to see those speedy fixes.
