Hey guys, before I contact support, anyone else in Shaun/Paul's (<- :D) favourite neck of the woods having problems with youtube streaming? Struggling at 360p here...

Telefonica Wholesale need to get their %&#& together. Your game's EU server routes via US servers before hopping back over the pond into Spain where the servers appear to be hosted. High latency over this sort of a network design is inevitable.

Ahh ok, well it must be a well designed game then, because on 256kbps (mtn uncapped throttled) it's perfect hehe. Since i got the ip's earlier today it had very high pings on AH, mweb and CW, but on that throttled Mtn connection the highest it got was around 270ms with a average ping of 190ms. Weird.

gonna catch up with this schedule
6am->6pm no downloads
6pm->8pm 1/4 line speed limited
8pm->6am full speed baby

Not a biggie: The daily usage emails need to be shifted across to the new account details. Still displaying usage for the old account.

hahaha my network monitor is flagging unusual traffic volumes

Was just about to comment on this myself.

No big deal, but to mitigate future queries, possibly add this step to the workflow when/if you need to issue new credentials to users?

OK, no woah there cowboy. If I'm honest with you, that's pretty excessive. That's 10 hours of full line speed on a 20Mbps line on a daily basis. Please try to curb that down - the internet will still be there next month.

Your current usage patterns are closing in on 40GB per day. There's no way we can maintain an unshaped service to you on that sort of usage I'm afraid.

Yoh...! WTF do people download on a daily basis that consumes so much data...? This is an honest question...?

What do you call it when the net is fast, but not fast, stable, but not stable? Maybe it's Unotelly acting up.

Something up with the net atm? NNTP barely reaching 400kbps, HTTP downloads barely 200kbps and speedtest barely gets 5mb? (btw not downloading anything just testing)

Yeah same here, but mine jumps all over the place performance wise. Just tested with AH 1gb free and stable. Can it be that everyone being unshaped is degrading the network a bit? To give you a idea, on Ptawug we are only about 1400 users and the data transferred on the network since 12am till 9PM is 1.4TB, and that is only Pretoria, that excludes the data between pretoria Wug and Johannesburg Wug. So that being said, imagine what a ISP's entire user base can do if everyone is unshaped.

I did not mean I would slam the account for 10 hours straight, that's just what the shaping device I have it set to allow. I had no idea my usage was that high, honestly thought it was significantly lower. Seems like the backlog of releases was high.

My queue is about done, all caught up with the last month and a half. My shaper now only releases P2P at midnight and locks at 6am, hope this will lower the strain. Where can I check the usage on these new accounts? I want to keep it within reasonable limits.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
