I meant 3G modems. I have a couple of mifi routers that work with USB connections to a PC - think an RB can pretend it's PC-ish enough? (I doubt it)

I have done that before, but you have to have a RB with a USB port and a higher than level 4 Licence. I have done it with multiple 3g sticks, however the RB has to support the model of 3g stick and its quite a beeetch to get working. You can also use a USB hub to add more devices to the RB. And you can route specific ports and sites through the specific interface you want ie. 3g, dsl, lan etc.

The board I'm getting has USB and level 5.
This is going to be a fun exercise :)
 
/ponders registering an AS number and netblock. Wonder if my ADSL providers will pass up my BGP advertisements?! ;)
 
Which RB are you getting? Indeed, it will be fun and you will also have a few RB meet wall moments haha.
We should have a mikrotik thread on here..

I bought an enclosure for mine, to stop dust from getting inside etc. At work we have a Cloud Core Mikrotik which is just rack mounted. The RB 1000 is basically a baby cloud core.
 
For example a cloud core has more ram and processing power than most gamers rigs.. 16 cores and 32gb of Ram in a router... Haha
