hi guys
of topic...
I'm getting horrible speeds on nntp downloads....averaging 20KB/s on my 10mb line....

Sorry to hear the sad news about the Husky rescue centre. I will make a donation tomorrow.

@Crystalweb, will you launch capped products? If so, when?

I am really excited about the microtik routers as well but if i see how many problems the smart guys have with it, not sure if i want one anymore. Watched some youtube videos. I understand it up to a point but then i just lose it totally.

They are not so bad once it's configured. I've had one that's been running for nine years without me needing to touch the config again

My wife made me aware of whatsapp issues this morning via CW. Anyone else had the same experience? Google Play and other services on her Android tab and BB q5 worked, just not whatsapp. Everything works now, why I am not contacting support. But it still takes a while for messages to go through to her via CW, on her mobile data it is instant.

The support staff asked me why whatsapp isn't working on wifi - both in the office on one of the APs and a customer who had been on live chat - my short answer:
because whatsapp is crap

the longer answer: go and investigate and find out and then put it in the KB

Your linky is broken :(

At Crystal Web, we are proud, existing sponsors of The Husky Rescue Centre, who today suffered an unspeakable tragedy, when a massive swarm of bees attacked their beautiful haven. 2 huskies have subsequently died, and another 3 are in critical condition. 25 other dogs are currently being treated by various vets. The news story is here - http://ewn.co.za/2014/09/29/Huskies-...-swarm-of-bees

As existing sponsors, and animal lovers, Crystal Web have already donated a lump sum to the centre, but in addition we will be donating our profits and far more for October to Husky Rescue Centre. If anyone signs up for a new Crystal Web account in the next month, with the following code (huskyrescue02) we will donate R100 to Husky Rescue Centre, up to R50,000 which should cover all necessary expenditure they may incur. No contract lock-ins, and no calendar month's notice, although all accounts will be subjected to our terms and conditions as per the sign up page.

If you were considering moving to Crystal Web, you can now do so, and help us make a difference. I know this seems opportunistic, but we've given as much as we possibly can, and are also sacrificing profit opportunities for a month, so we hope you can see past this as being as such.

If instead you'd prefer to simply make a donation, or if you'd like to make a donation over and above what we will be making, please let us know on our support or billing email addresses and we will facilitate it for you, and ensure that it reaches Siobhan and the rest of the team at The Husky Rescue Centre.

Hopefully you can spread this far and wide, and help us, help them.

Silly question, but my account is set to become active 1st October. At what time should I be able to switch over?

This may also be a silly question but I really want to pay you guys.
Your invoicing system doesn't give me that option - just wants me to sign up for my own trial of your invoicing system.
Where is your payment portal?

From an email.

For now EFT payments are required, but a full suite of payment options are coming very soon.

Yes yes not all of us use crapple :p , the majority is on whatsapp that I know of anyways. Was not a real issue, just wondered. :) Also seeing as it worked perfect on vodacom and mtn I was just curious as to what on CW could be delaying the messages.

We'll add another R10 to all existing customers who do so. Wish we could do more, but there's simply no way to do so. But you absolutely can. Please simply make the payment reference Husky. Thank you, Patrick. :)

Done. And thanks to everyone else adding their bit.

Nuck Fuggets..

The Wireless Mesh network I'm running at home has a Public SSID that I want to use, but its NATs the traffic itself so I can't do much more than see all the traffic that goes through that SSID as a single entity... FFS...
