Suprised there are no threads about this yet. I'm in Hurligham area on Vumatel with Crystalweb ISP. Net is unusable since yesteray midnight'ish. Most things just dont load, some google services work intermittently. They have it listed as 'degraded' at http://notices.crystalweb.co.za

Anybody else affected?
 
Yup, me too.

Crystalweb isn't regarded as newsworthy by the powers that be at MyBB unless it's something bad - so I agree, I'm surprised there's no article yet.
Wondering if the mybb staff's darkweb buddies have any info on this...?
 
Must be a Vumatel/Fibre issue, as I am on Crystal 4MB ADSL and was watching Olympics til about 1:30 AM this morning yesterday, with no Crystal-related issues.

Appears to be targeted as IS FTTH addresses

update - not correct. Attack has been "refined" to only target the address range allocated to Crystal Web.
Definitely an attack on CW itself.

That would infer that somebody is paying the script kiddies to do it. Ideas? Same lot who tried to set up a bribery scam with the info leak?

I wonder if it is the same people who did the attach on Cool Ideas a couple of months ago

I obviously dont pay much attention on mybb these days. Wasnt crystalweb the mybb sweetheart a short while back?

I don't recall that ever being the case. MyBB craps all over CW. Negative news makes the front page instantly and they'll never say anything good about CW. They refuse to let CW advertise on MyBB and they banned CW's CEO, DJ.
 
Seems to have righted itself on my side, no comments or updates from CW yet whether it is actively mitigated or the attacks just stopped.
