Hi,

So recently ESEA have started up in South Africa.
Was working 100% for first 2 weeks or so.
Then Issues started to come up.

Tracing route to 41.223.35.107 over a maximum of 30 hops

1 1 ms 1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 36 ms 38 ms 29 ms cdsl2-rba-vl2766-ipc.ip.isnet.net [196.38.73.86]

4 30 ms 31 ms 29 ms 196.38.73.85
5 30 ms 30 ms 29 ms cdsl2-rba-vl150.ip.isnet.net [196.38.73.9]
6 48 ms 47 ms 30 ms core2-pkl-t0-7-0-0.ip.isnet.net [168.209.1.163]

7 30 ms 30 ms 30 ms core1a-pkl-te-1-2.ip.isnet.net [168.209.1.139]
8 55 ms 53 ms 45 ms 168.209.100.102
9 49 ms 48 ms 46 ms 168.209.2.132
10 47 ms 49 ms 47 ms t3.1-vl900-cr01.dc2.cpt.rsaweb.co.za [196.33.14.

11 47 ms 46 ms 49 ms po250-dis01.dc2.cpt.rsaweb.co.za [41.223.33.162]

12 47 ms 47 ms 47 ms 41.223.35.107

Hop 8 and 9 are the issue.

Below is a Test showing a time out every 5 seconds, which i cannot explain.

Jitter: you --> server: 5.81 ms
Jitter: server --> you: 0.71 ms
Packet loss: you --> server: 0.2 %
Packet loss: server --> you: 0.0 %
Distribution Loss: you --> server: 5.0 %
Distribution Loss: server --> you: 0.0 %
Packet discards: 0.6 %
Packets out of order: 0.0 %
Minimum round trip time to server: 272 ms
Average round trip time to server: 272 ms
Maximum round trip time to server: 274 ms
Round trip time consistency to server: 99 %
Estimated MOS score: 4.0

So i am not 100% sure what is going on.
Telkom Tell me its RSAweb.
RSAweb tell me its South Africa and cannot assist.

So im in a crossroads. I play in Masters but now everyone plays on ESEA, But it is so unplayable its not worth my time.

To play ESEA you seem to have to live either in JHB or Capetown, while the rest of us cannot play it.
Win ratios by Capetown People are almost 100% if they are skilled.

Would have to move either to Cape Town or Jhb to be able to keep playing csgo on a high level.
Or quit and cancel ESEA.
I think this is going to kill csgo in SA competitively as now only a select few players can actually play with the skilled players in South Africa.

Any Suggestions on how to fix this with out moving?

Thanks !

You've done well figuring out that ESEA is hosted at RSAWeb as ESEA are quite secretive about their server IP's to begin with! I had similar problems and it took me ages to figure out how to see the IP. ANyway, my suggestion is that you try using RSAWeb as your ISP as they sell ADSL accounts which run on their own IPC network so their accounts will probably give you the best experience to the ESEA servers at the moment. Otherwise just try a bunch of other ISP's until you find something that works OK. Afrihost, VOX, Cybersmart, and even Telkom might all be worth a shot, seeing as you're on an IS-based account at the moment. If that fails, try Telkom or Afrihost LTE ? Ping will probably be in the region of around 50 but it should be very playable on those 128 tick servers. Makes no sense to move house just for this, there is a solution, even if you need to proxy through a VPN or something
