CSGO Sticky thread

Everyone is taking this seriously, but Valve,

Okay, Valve is strict, but it is only really tier 1 which is healthy. Cheating allegations in the tiers below are mad. It isn't only CS, Valorant is also like this, but CS is tame when it comes to anti-cheat.

I am currently watching Starladder, and I must say, it is good. Though when comparing those games to casual competitive games, something is not right within the community. Not everyone can be a Donk, yet 'everyone' toggles to be Donk.

By now I guess I have ventilated enough.

It seems Valve is bringing back Overwatch. I haven't looked into it, but some people are calling it Overwatch 2.0, and there is now a VacNet labelling portal. I don't know whether there is a relation between the labelling and Overwatch aspects. Having access to the labelling portal is by invitation.

Clearly VacNet needs a human hand in labelling events, or so to speak.

So... It is worth putting it out there that VAC labelling is to train VACnet. Valve makes it clear that voting won't result in banning or temporarily suspending players. It serves to guide AI. I see some popular accounts have claimed that the new Overwatch has already resulted in game bans. No. I have no idea why some people are schitposting.

Also, users within the cheat communities already have access to the labelling portal, and so do some popular CS streamers who even streamed how it works. Valve also made it clear that when granted access that nothing can be shared in public.

All in all, I think some within the CS communities see this as a content creation opportunity. Sad.

I don't play Valve's other game, Deadlock? Apparently this is already a thing in Deadlock.

Essentially, this helps to train what can be considered VAC 3.0. Though we all know that Valve can't do a third.

It is now reported by those invited to the portal that non-competitive modes are also being reviewed.

Yoh. The casual modes are ripe with cheaters.

Sadly, the reports won't result in game bans, but I am curious whether it will impact the Trust Factor. TF has little to no meaning in regions with low player activity.

One of the best games there is to just hop onto and play and people decide to cheat. Never understood that.
