Ok, so let's talk Dust 2 quickly coz that's what I'm most familiar with.
Why in yesterday's comp, when we were T did nobody try and sneak through mid? Sure I get that there's usually somebody with an AWP behind it at the start, but listen to this...
One of the rounds I ran to the right from B through Uppers and Lowers (while some other poor suckers were getting shot to hell trying to get through the doorway) and went down the stairs and through the doorway at mid. What I saw was two CT's running up through CT Spawn towards A, and nobody else in there.
Doesn't that make THAT the better way to go? Any CT defending A or B is usually hidden within the bombsite, not looking down towards mid. At any rate you've got a bit more space and more cover options in mid than you do going down Long towards A or the doorway to B.
Finally, once you're in mid you've got three attack options within easy distance of each other (and the ability to rotate between them quickly).
Dust2 - On the lower ranks, you will have 2 A : 2 B : 2M and on higher ranks you will see 2-3 A : 1 B : 1-2 M, it is all about the rotate.
The T's has various split play combos on Dust2, but it is damn hard to do them when the team is not playing together. I’m not going into depth here, watch some pro matches to see the when and how – there is a lurk element to these executions. The mid takes to A or B carries are very popular, but you do need to know how the CT’s will rotate.
There are switch splits as well, basically it is the good old fake splits or fake site takes.
A good CT side will put up the cross overwatch on mid, they have many spots on the map to take these positions. On B they have Window, B Doors, B Boxes and Scaffold. On A they have CT Spawn, Fast Cat, Ramp, Cross/Long A and Car. Do you see how many corners must be cleared when entering mid? Now you need to consider how they will react to this… Do they have a player on Short A/Cat which can rotate to Cat/Xbox? Do they have a player on Long A/Side Pit to rotate to Top Mid? Do they have a player at B to rotate through Tunnels to Mid? Therefore, you need the lurk to catch the CT rotate or to draw in the defence from rotating.
People have asked me many times why I move off from my cover position on either B or A as CT, it is to listen to where T is moving to. Intel which wins my team rounds. The same apply to me playing on T side.
When I call, I do various plays to test the opposition on the rotate, once I read into them then my game sense takes over on making the best possible calls, it stays scenario based.
That part of getting shot to hell… why are you not taking the trade kill? A few things that I know about playing with you humble bunch on Dust2 on T-side,
1) Bundling up in tunnels.
2) Bundling up in long doors.
3) Blocking in tunnels
4) Blocking in long doors.
5) Sits in T Spawn…
All of which are failed executions, whenever there is bundling up I exit the building. Whenever there is blocking I (we) get shot to pieces. Whenever there is running in and around Tunnels or Long Doors they listen and will rotate accordingly. I’m not going to get into this, all I’m asking for is to push together when the call is made. Please, everyone has to provide intel, not only the caller, this includes when and where you are going to flash, smoke or nade.
Anyways… Much better to practice than to be explained. As I have told Prod many times, I don't do inconsistency. We have to be fluent, and everyone has to read into the radar.
Like I said, watch the pro’s do the team executions.
