CSGO Sticky thread

My keyboard and mouse lights up red every time I aim at @Neoprod, then my train of thought goes like, "hostile, hostile, hostile...". Come to think of this I only get headshots if I shoot prod.
Is this how you admit to having high end hardware?

My keyboard is high-end, my mouse is cheap. Ironically, there are better and cheaper keyboards out there and my cheap mouse is highly rated by RJN. I wanted the G910 as I use various custom macros in ARPGs.

Nah. I don't cheat. I only care when people cheat in competitive mode.
Cheaters are unfortunately a big problem in the game. Lots of them going unnoticed for very long periods of time. I get it when someone is a better player, but lots of the **** I've seen when I played earlier this year was straight down dodgy.

FaZe is playing GODSENT soon,

I don't know this GODSENT roster other than Maikelele and STYKO. Upset incoming?

It is a problem in any and all online games. However, it more so an issue in F2P games than in P2P games. Valve is working on VACnet, it is a huge endeavour to leverage AI learning to combat in-game cheating. VACnet isn't there, yet, and it will take some time, and obviously, Valve wants to add value to other devs using SteamWorks when VACnet is more capable. VAC isn’t the best anti-cheat, it is very controversial and, yes, VAC was intrusive back in the day. There is a reason devs who use SteamWorks use other anti-cheats. Sometimes to discover cheats the anti-cheat tool needs to be intrusive, it is rather a question whether you want an entity like Tencent's to know and understand your system and the users using that system. Personally I wouldn't trust anyone with 'my' analytics.

In the end, it will always be an uphill battle against cheaters. Yes, cloud computing is a solution, but you can still manipulate your packets via expensive hacking tools. Then there are tools like Xim, which enables keyboard + mouse as a physical authenticated controller on consoles and CronusMax which can run scripts, and you may use both.

People who suck will always discover ways to improve themselves, whether it is through practice or by manipulating the mechanics.

So, the kid, 2eggs, who 'made' HestiaNet is also a cheater,

I see it is rough on the internetz, the hacker community are calling each other out at the moment. Valve VAC banned CSGO on the kid's account. I don't know how all this started, but I like to see cheaters burn.

2eggs was also publicly called out by a Valve developer.

Shame, he didn't get to live out his Highlander dream.

There is some fun over in Warzone land too, they are now requiring two factor authentication with a valid phone number for new accounts.

GG Astralis, the Road to Rio European champs.

I watched the VOD...it took about an hour.

I see they're experimenting with their 6th man right now at Dreamhack - giving glaive, the IGL, some time off. They take player welfare pretty seriously

Since the 2eggs spectacle on Reddit I see Ivo is contributing a lot more to CSGO discussion, and where this article was discussed,

Ivo responded to a question on Reddit,

he quoted,

I think it’s ****ing stupid that the same feature filters both toxicity and likeliness of cheating.

and said,

Trust does indeed exclusively filter for likeliness of cheating.

what exactly is VAC looking at? ELO is broken in any case.

I appreciate DIG making these videos,

but they don't mention that they have bottomed out to close to every pool they have played in since being reunited.
