CSGO Sticky thread

@Neoprod

Will you have your aim skills repaired by Sunday night?
Dunno...either my mouse is lying when it says it's at 1600 dpi or I'm losing it. It doesn't have any software so I'm going by the LED. It feels slower than it should.

Sunday is good...can use the Glorious instead of the Xtrfy.

Firmware update? Maybe it went wonky with loadshedding or something.

What's the deal with Valve's SA servers? Both CS:GO and Dota 2 seemed to be unplayable yesterday. Anyone know what's going on?

Sure, if they've fixed the servers. Played a game of casual just now before loadshedding and the latency was bouncing between 30 and 70...it's usually a steady 5ms on my line.

Everyone in the game had ADSL pings or worse.

Here I am with my sad Cape Town pings and loss.

I think Eskom may have screwed my game night. CoCT is unsure whether we will change up tonight, but in the case we are going to stage 3/4 then I am out.

OT, but I see Philips want to compete with the "high-end" gaming heasets,

Philips Launches the TAG5106 Wirelesss Gaming Headset

Equipped with a dual wireless system supporting both 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, the Philips TAG5106 offers a true two-in-one solution that delivers advanced quality in gaming audio as well as mobile music.

...
  • Precise 50 mm drivers for thrilling, detailed sound
  • Detachable noise cancelling mic to be heard loud and clear
  • 2.4 GHz/BT dual wireless connection and 3.5 mm wired connection for convenient multi-platform compatibility
  • Next-gen DTS Headphone:X 2.0 surround sound for truly immersive listening
  • Integrated breathing LED lighting for a more dynamic gaming experience
  • Ultra-long 45-hour battery life
  • Award-winning ergonomic design for long-lasting comfort

not what I would buy, don't like the design,

TAG5106BK_00-IMS-en_GB

but Philips has been consistent with value. There is also their 4000 series (TAG4106BK) which is wired and has an attachable DAC which enables DTX 2.0, but otherwise you can use it in stereo or plug it into another DAC/AMP.

The UK 5000 series listing is MSRP £74.99. Not bad. I guess the wired version would be ~£60-65.

I am going to say it now, this headset will most likely put Steelseries to a shame, but the plebs won't recognise that.
