CSGO Sticky thread

Anyhow, it does seem that Valve is clamping down on twitch movements that are potentially too good to be true. False bans are being removed, and they are even open to engagement on Reddit to review bans that those banned deem illegitimate. I have no idea why Valve is opening themselves up to this; they don't usually do this, at least not publicly.

Even Gabe Follower posted about it:

CS2 developer shared that they're manually verifying possible false-positive bans that occurred after the latest silent VACnet update and reported on Reddit.

Strange times. Maybe they check what the player's inventory is like and, depending on the value, allow them through :whistling:

I played last night, and I suspected at least 5 players were cheating in casual. Lol, some kids tried to kick me, but they sounded older than I am.

The ban wave hardly had an impact on the player base. It is in the stats to be seen. Some cheats that were disabled were enabled within 10 minutes. Just tempering the rage levels, it seems. The recommendation is to use 'legit' level cheats, which would include things like walling (and ESP). Some open-source internal cheats are still not detected. I don't know where people are getting their data, but some communities claim that over 180k accounts were banned. I am not seeing that at all.

The only issue I have with one report is that you aim too long at a person who is behind a 'wall', VAC Live will be triggered. This is only applicable to Premier/Competitive servers. Now, I don't cheat, but I do track players with audio, and I will put them center to where I can hear them. Time will tell.

In my entire history playing CS, I only got VAC'ed once due to using a third-party application. I don't know what triggered that cooldown. Since then, I disable PowerToys when launching CS, since that is all I could think it was.

I watched Austin review the man. Maybe, he is the NA donk?

Some remarks by Austin are true. There are some sus moments, but hey, game sense.

It's an EU pro on holiday :p

Sometimes all it takes is good comms. Comms allow target acquisition. A team that makes calls can make individuals seem godlike. I watched some games, and he does seem natural. His reaction time and accuracy are surreal, though. Smooth aim is possible, but who can tell???

I think Austin is right about this not being a main account. Now, that said, cheaters also have more than one account. At least this person isn't telling everyone about being in some aim community. The "aim community" is being abused.

I would say less, but I played a bit on Monday and both a casual and deathmatch game had idle bots. For some reason, some players didn't want them kicked... In addition to that, Valve's incredible VAC wave is being overexaggerated. Valve did make VAC more aggressive; those who are getting cooldowns using cheats are told by their own community that it is due to user error.

I will quote a post on MemeSense.

Thread (no link provided):

why the legitbot not working?

Q: so i tried memesense for like 30min today after te update and the legitbot is not working AT ALL why the **** is that so?

A: Because its risky And other people don't want to understand it and wonder why there are bans because they are cognitively impaired, others claim That it was dtc But what it is not, even semi rage functions These people can't understand that everything is 99% user issue.

R: yeah i know i understand that 100% but bro no joke the legit bot is working but only 50/50 so u cant do a aim key u MUST have it on m1 and auto shoot & aw is turned off but the features are there but it doesnt work so why tf is it there when its not even working? but okay imma wait for an update so they make it to normal

 Valve is actively tweaking VACnet, messing with cheat creators. It is more cooldowns than bans.

For years I have kept watch on these communities. You need to understand them, to know how it all works. I am making more positive reports, than negative reports. I don't know what to do about bots. I don't report them in-game, I report them in Steam. I am not seeing bots being shut down.

Is anyone still playing CS2 and experiencing strange hit registration problems since the last couple of updates? Possibly for the last one or two updates, the feel of my game has spiraled downward. Last week, I faced some connectivity loss, but I am struggling to hit a stationary target with a headshot in the server. This is not the case against a localized instance against bots.

It is even in my game stats. My best headshot percentage from the past week is 17%. This can't be right. When I am playing deathmatch, I genuinely struggle to be in the top 3. For me, this is unusual.

I still get my kills, but my time-to-kill (TTK) is plainly schit. Yet, it doesn't seem as if other players are having this same experience. I watched the demo of my last two games, and a player was questioning his own headshots. A miss that should have been a hit, and then a show of frustration through mouse movements.

Just want to know if anyone else here has such an issue?

Okay, wait. Lol.

This update completely destroyed the spray—CS feels broken and ridiculous now. And the funny thing is, we’ll have to play in the tournament with this new update

How can they make game feel even worse every ****ing time

Apparently, some have also figured out that the game is ignoring some inputs  though it is known that Valve is pushing back against all forms of scripting, and that would include your keyboard's actuation settings. I guess it is this, then, but it still doesn't explain this hitreg thing that I am experiencing.

Something else that I haven't mentioned is that sometimes it feels as if the game reverses some ticks. It can almost be explained like rubberbanding, but it is irritating when throwing a nade in movement, and then you are reversed, or rewinded, when throwing, ugh. This might have been my loss, though, but I see someone else brought it up too.

Ignoring that there is something weird going on with CS2's netcode, I have to agree with Simple here:

That is a subtle remark. Ever since Valve introduced VACnet, they have been hammering what can be considered semi-rage/rage cheaters. Some cheat developers have adapted. It can't be ignored that ESP, radar, and walling are a big issue. Ever since the last ban wave, most cheaters are pressured to use "legit" cheats. The problem is that the game is now in a worse state.

There are way too many sixth sense players now. Being dependent on extra-sensory cheats is the new rage now.

Also, the state that tier 2 and tier 3 competitive CS is in at the moment is sad. Sponsors and others endorsing these competitions won't condone "doping." I suspect Valve might start to accelerate its anti-cheat detection.

This kid's playing a different game - he manhandles the Astralis players like he's smurfing in nova.
