I remember it. Very small. All the weapons just lying on the floor. Pool in the middle with tiled areas all around. Hell that was fun. Always turned into a total clusterfsck of grenades and stuff

There was also only one sound for throwing a grenade "Fire in the hole!". That was all you heard for the first minute of every round over and over again

Remember that Rats map that looked like a giant kitchen?

God the hours of my life lost to CS.

I played CS before the famas and galil were added. Remember that silenced SMG the CTs used to get? Man that thing was awesome. I also used to love the MP5. Remember how the UMP and MP5 used to use your secondary ammo as a CT and T respectively? Oh god and you had to buy ammo! I had totally forgotten!

Man that was a great time to be a gamer. Also far less toxicity than there is today.

I remember de_dashur. Don't remember the pro3 variant.

Smaller map with that little garage you had to crouch to go through the door at. Also that long narrow flight of stairs near the one bomb site that was a total death zone.

Yea that one! pro3 was basically same for some reason I had 2 versions one pro3.

I remember the first time I played CS when it was still a mod you had to install, where I originally got it was NAG magazine had a double disc one month which included CS and a bunch of other mods.

This was when everyone had the Telkom 7 to 7 unlimited usage for R7.

If you wanted any large files you had to start Friday night at 7 or know someone with ISDN.

That disc was gold back in those days.

Then the Source days rolled around and we got ADSL and countless hours were spent having fun with friends.

I was the only one of my friends that had ADSL, I downloaded all the mods so I would always be the host, we had kill cams that showed the bullet trajectories, the damage done and taken etc.

Official Source didn't have anything like that, I also had weapon skins and knife skins, I just now realised thinking back to those times I had a revolver, knife skin and glove skin ten years ago, when all those CSGO updates were released I didn't even think a thing about it, it hit me now thinking back.

I know there is a dashur community server coming online if it is not already.

Lol, Grumpy...used to play with him on Dahshur when Source was still a thing. The Source Dahshur server was pretty popular...the okes hiding behind those baskets at T spawn were annoying as hell.

True, and probably not worth the effort if only 2-3 people would play. Anyhow, I have time to kill the next 2-3 weeks, if I'm bored, I'll put a server up and post some instructions if anyone wants to join

EDIT: Played a bit of CS 1.5 on de_dahshur just now with POD Bots, so soooo good. Decided that I'll do all the effort to setup a server. Will upload a extract and play client for you guys, so you can get into the action without the need to install the game, the patches etc.
