I'm running Win 10 x64 Enterprise and CS 1.5 works perfectly here on my side without any issues
Guys, everything is practically ready, just busy with some HL master server tweaks and stuff. As soon as that is sorted I'll up the client for you guys to download.
Going out for the evening, but will post the link as soon as it's ready.
PS: Will a de_dashur 3 server be sufficient, or do you guys want a vanilla one too with the other maps as well?

I've now come to the conclusion that kids today are raised like such unique delicate snowflakes where everyone gets a trophy that it's inconceivable for anyone to be better than them at something except if that person is cheating in some way.
When someone speaks in game you can clearly hear if it's a younger or older person and I've heard older people tilt and be salty but not once have I heard an older person accuse someone of cheating.
I was called out for wallhacking for killing someone with a headshot five times in a row, who is the one sitting in the same spot five times in a row and crouching so I know exactly the height to shoot at?

I always accuse dodgy people for hacking and then report them.
About 55% of the time I get a steam message saying thanks for the report and they have been banned, you just never know these days.

I've now started to encourage people to report me just to make them feel better or something.
I've only seen that message the one time, felt good.

For nostalgia's sake, I've setup 2 servers:
- Dahshur only server
- Vanilla server (without dahshur, but can add it if required, also removed the VIP maps)
A few important notes about the client:
a) I compressed it using 7zip, so if you can't unrar it, download 7zip (size= 189.7mb)
b) Create a desktop shortcut for "cstrike.exe"
c) In the "Target" box, after the last quotation mark, make a space and then add "-console" (without quotations) and hit the "Apply" button.
- If you did it correctly you won't get any error messages about the "Target" path being incorrect
- Why should you add the "-console" command line switch? Simple, it will allow you to skip both the "Sierra" and "Valve" logos every time you launch the game via the shortcut.
d) Launch the game via the shortcut as administrator
- If you're not running Win 10, you might get some error messages here about memory
not sufficient etc. If you get such an error, enable compatibility mode for Win XP. That
should fix it right up. But on Win 10, I get no errors whatsoever, so no need for comp mode.
e) If prompted for a CD key, see the "CDkey.txt" file in the root of the game folder
f) On the main menu, go to "Configuration" and setup your keys, video settings etc
- For Video settings, under "Video modes", set it to "OpenGL" and pick 1920x1080 if you want 16:9 widescreen support.
- I hex edited the "cstrike.exe" back in the day to manually add 1080p support (in which I play the game).
- You can try editing in resolutions higher than 1080p, but send me a PM if you want to do this.
g) Before you join the servers, set your name:
- Under the "Play CS, LAN Games" menu, change the server name there from "Mybroadband user" to whatever you want.
- Or simply edit the "config.cfg" file in the "cstrike" folder with your name (use Ctrl+F and look for "Mybroadband user"
- Or via the console using the "name <your name>" command.
- Or via the "Customize" submenu under "Play CS" (best and easiest way)
h) After you have set your name, you're ready for action. To play go to "Play CS, Net Games and then hit the "Update" button.
- My HL master server will refresh & add the two servers there and then it's a case of joining either one of the two.
- Happy fragging
If there are any requests, like map time limits, round limits etc, please post here and I'll make necessary changes. Everything is set to default settings otherwise.
PS: I haven't enabled PODbots yet on either server, but it's a metamod plugin which I'll need to config. I think I'll leave the bots for now, but if there is a need, I can set that up as well.
PS2: I forgot to mention, if you create a LAN game, PODBots will be added, so if you want to jam the game on LAN or just want to practice in 1.5 again, then fire up a LAN game. The number of players
you set in the LAN options will add that many bots to the game.
- Also, when playing on LAN with bots, you can press the "=" button to bring up the PODBot menu if you want to add, kick bots etc.

I'm tempted to start my PC up and be the first person to download it but it's 2am.

A quick update guys, I've enabled PODBots on the Dahshur server via metamod and my word, they're whipping my butt
I've only set it to 8 bots, so there is still plenty of spots open to join. Just want to see if I can get the team balance right, but at least there is something to shot at now for those that want
