I forget to check play time but I just had guys in Arms Race to call outs and at the very last level it finally dawned on them that both teams can hear each other.
One guy was telling his team he was going to run up the side and camp our spawn, I turn to my left and off in the distance see a guy hoofing it around the back, shot him with the AWP right in the ear.

I just checked, the guy has 1500 hours played, the others were 150 - 250 hours, guess they just never played Arms Race before.
Now knowing he has 1500 hours played saying to a server full of people he is going to run up the side and camp in spawn is even funnier.

Arms race is easy compared to the competitive stuff which I don't venture into. You see these guys with team names & they can't hit the broadside of a barn with a rifle. They shoot at you at close range, miss completely and you run around them knife them with 100% health intact. The part you mentioned about them talking not knowing everybody can hear had me in stitches
I have not played for a while, need to get back. After the steam sale and xmas gifts there should be more people juliass malema can annoy

Day is done, family is gone, let me play a couple rounds of Arms Race, get in match just starting with a full server, check CSGO stats and see four people with 0 hours played, always good to see new people.
Forward 3 minutes into the match and a guy with 1.1 hours in game screaming and freaking the hell out telling me to stop etc, followed by another person apologising to everyone about his brother acting like that and specifically telling me to keep going.

All the noobies around, gosh.
Played my first match since my hiatus on the 4th of Dec. Managed to get 2nd on the log, but I feel a bit rusty. Missing shots with the AWP the whole time but I also got a new mouse (my old Sentinel Z3ro-G is unwell) and I had to ramp up the sensitivity a bit.

Just played 3 competitive matches. Not too impressed. Prefire for days. Aim lock for days. People have 30ms ping, but they lag, causing shots to not connect. Team mates were bad. For real, I'm not going to read the chat while I try to clutch, that is just bad mojo. Worst of all, the smurfs.

I was wanting to comp last night but ended up tweaking my mouse settings vs bots.
Flatmate was in a few comps but he said the smurfs are real as well as everyone trying to derank their accounts.
Also, the new bomb timer sound is kuk.

Got a random joining our lobby last night telling us he is in it to derank. Promptly told him to fsck off.

I honestly thought my game was bugging out earlier on. I joined a Deathmatch by mistake when I was meaning to join a casual game and I couldn't figure out why I was spawning in CT spawn but with my teammates all over the map. The HUD also had a glitch whereby my crosshair disappeared and my Buy menu wouldn't open. I thought I was losing me mind!

You sure it is not a public lobby through a Steam group, a community mechanic which was recently introduced?
Nope. When you go into the game, and you click on the 'public lobby' tab, you can join any lobby that isn't set to friends only. First time someone joined, it was cool. It wares off though, and you just want to play with players you jam better with.

For those that are not aware, the Classic Offensive mod was released two days ago:

I'm hosting a dedicated server for those that want to check it out. Unfortunately the server browser in the mod doesn't work (as the devs need to modify the source code and need Valve's permission to do so), but you can still connect via the console using the "connect" command. Find my server details here: http://www.onepointsix.org/index.php (use the "Africa" filter at the top).
Lobbies also work with the mod, so you can use that as well.
My CS 1.5 servers are still also available (will probably keep them up indefinitely as I jam on them from time to time).
