I like it, because you have close up and far away options
what's the n00b cannon? heard that term the other night... my guess was the AK47?
AWP, probably or maybe the auto-sniper.

nah, its the auto sniper. A lot of hackers use it as well as noobs as its really powerful and easy to use
Haven't heard the AWP being called a noob cannon before
Against a poor awper the scout can work well because of the increased movement speed. Quick peek and, hit him and then duck back in. Do that twice and he is gone.+1, the AWP takes skill, for the most part. The Scout is next gen difficult. Getting kills with the scout is very difficult, and also very satisfying.
^^^, depends how it's used...we've all seen people with the awp sit scoped in on one angle for an entire round. Hence noob cannon.
but holding angles is one of the things the awp does best. There could be a strategic reason to hold that corner. For example when we play DustII I tend to awp from T spawn and I don't leave spawn until after my team has taken site. I do this because we can catch the guys on the rotate. OK sure I don't just stand there scoped because you're asking to get rushed from either long or upper tunnels but I hang in that spot.^^^, depends how it's used...we've all seen people with the awp sit scoped in on one angle for an entire round. You only need to see the AWP in the hands of a fresh noob to appreciate the amount of skill it takes to use effectively.
AUG/553 - I can't really use these for **** due to the spray pattern. Would much rather have an AK + Molotov + Flash or an M4 + Flash for the same money.
@ Fanie - I'd suggest ditching the CoD guns right away and rather go for the AK/M4. Not as easy to get used to in the beginning but you'll learn how to use them well soon enough.
Then again I'm a self-confessed P90 noob.Though I find myself leaning more towards the UMP45 these days as an in-between before I have cash for rifles and nades.
FWIW Steam name is TehStranger, though due to work and Kendo I'm only online from 9:30 till 11:30 most nights.
I've been playing Arms Race the last couple of nights, and it's helping me understand the uses of each of the guns. P90 I rush and get close and personal, same with the shotguns. Rifles I can hang back and burst/single shot from far away.
@everyone - with arms race, when you get to the pistol, it sometimes swops into like a magnum or something and then i found right clicking to fire it, wtf is going on there???
/confused as fukk
R8 revolver? If so right click to rapid fire (with all sorts of spray). Left click and hold will slowly pull the hammer back and then fire. Very accurate but the time penalty is a bitch, I prefer the Deag as a result. However you can "prefire" it, i.e. pull the hammer back as you're about to go around a corner which reduces the shot time. If youy come around the corner and no enemy drop the button before it fires to save ammo.
Definitely. I've even seen people jump up and down for the AWP, then they get taken out at the start of each round in T/C spawn as they can't play with it. I find that the AWP is a great gun, but you need to keep distance a little bit if you want to be effective]
Distance is for noobs...AWP rush for the win!
Yes, I die a lot...but that's what casual is for.
See that's why I always recommend new players to start with Arms Race, it forces you to play with all the guns, making you learn the spray patterns etc, then you play Casual to learn the maps etc, Deathmatch to practise with a specific weapon and by the time you get to Rank 21 to enable Prime you're good to go.
OK apparently a few friends checked the replay and he wasn't a smurf, he was a hacker. Apparently he is also a frequent member on a forum offering boosting services for money. What a pity.Played against a smurf last night. Lost 16-2 but we had fun telling him how he was too bad to be rank X and whatnot. Just trying to make him insecure
The match before that we won pretty convincingly against MGEs.
Smurfs stand out, but hackers you can see in game already. There are a lot of Smurfs these days.OK apparently a few friends checked the replay and he wasn't a smurf, he was a hacker. Apparently he is also a frequent member on a forum offering boosting services for money. What a pity.![]()
We all thought he was fishy in game and were reporting him for walls.Smurfs stand out, but hackers you can see in game already. There are a lot of Smurfs these days.

He would always know exactly where to look at exactly the right time even if you're shift walking. The pre-fires were unreal. Apparently in the replay he was tracking us through walls and such.
I'm going to take a look at the replay when I'm home this evening.
