CSGO Sticky thread

I didn't have an issue but the weird thing is we had probably four guys with over 100ms ping and they spoke in a French accent, but other than that the rest of us had normal ping.

Could be from countries up north or islands on the east coast, not sure how they route.

I accepted. I'm nice like that.

Thanks boss. Even if you're not a woman, it's all good :P

I got my ass handed to me in that Arms Race event. Got killed so many times as pure headshots, it wasn't even close. I switched to just playing with bots set on easy, and finally got some kills in! Now the trick: how does one get matched to other human noobs?

Aim for the head, learn the down spray, somewhere down the line you will get the hang of it. If in doubt, tap shoot.

Haha. I wonder if you had Soul Assassin in your match...

No way to match with boobs really. Just keep playing on casual or death match. That will gain you experience. I also get nailed at Arms Race but it's a good way to learn the weapons

Interesting. On Modern Combat 5 which I play on my phone there is a really good experience matching system, so the teams you get matched with are generally as crappy as you are. Its a shame CS:GO seems to just be geared for pros. I read about one noob who was investing 10 hours a day to get good enough to be competitive. That's just crazy.

I'll keep at it over this weekend, and hopefully I can find the sweet spot.

PS: There's a good way to match with boobs. Don't play CS:GO on Friday nights lol.

I'm letting you guys lull him into a false sense of security before making an appearance.

CSGO has a ranking system in the competitive part but you first have to reach level two to play competitive.

This is where you will receive your rank and be grouped with people of a similar skill level.

Evil bastard.

@fox - there is an MM system, but on casual it's difficult to mix. Also you get pros who have "smurf accounts" meaning they appear unranked but actually aren't.

Much less likely with Prime though because people can't be bothered to buy and link a second SIM card to a Steam account.

He just has to work his way up and reach Prime.

Yeah well, pros like that should bugger off and let the babies grow up in a friendly zone.

Well, I'm now on 36 hours played. Corporal now.

At least I have gotten much better at recognizing the Ts and CTs in a instant. Hell, ssometime I am even at the top of the board, other times I suck and stay at the bottom.

Just playing Casual.

Not true, the pro guys are an elite bunch. They play on 128 tick servers. Once in a blue moon you will encounter one on an alt account on the match making servers. We’re generally amateurs ranked according to a matchmaking level, basically it are groups dividing the player base by %.

Only 1% is The Global Elite, the best amateurs.

It takes hours to be an average player. My real play time is about ~800hrs. Some people improve, others stagnate, it is how it works. 10 hours a day is killing it, even the pro’s take a break.

Our local pro guys earn about ~R4000 a month to compete, this is what the best teams are paying more or less.

You will also need to consider, solo will get you nowhere in competitive mode. You can only improve in a team, otherwise it is YOLO.

You know how many pro's you have slapped? Most players on alt is at best Eagles. Iirc, the average pro is ranked MGE, but they don't do match making in general.

I don't think he means pro as in pro team etc, he just means good player.

Nice detail, thanks for explaining :) Well I do want a team, just like a nice fun noob team where we can support each other with no judgement. I asked the guys in my office today but nobody's playing.

Yah I know that. Just don't want any confusion. There are a lot of Globals which has never touched the pro arena. I know couple of local pro smurfs. I and Prod ran into two of them on our journey, the one actually played on his main.
