CSGO Sticky thread

It usually makes me feel good when I win and laugh when people get mad but this time I feel sad, I won all three games I played and every single time this person went on and on about how I died more than him, I feel like no one has hugged him in a while.

Sore losers are real dude, forget about. It sounds like you need a hug too :P Quickly Urban Bunny, rush over to Soul Assassin!

Ok great, I'll give them a crack only later once I'm playing in the 30s with my kills in deathmatches.

One thing I noticed is that the AK is a heavier weapon so running is a lot slower with it compared to with the M4S. That alone made me hate it because it left me more vulnerable. Also although it's supposed to be so great for headshots, I didn't find it more accurate than the M4S - I think it's just the increased recoil makes it harder, so you have to one shot or nothing.

I gather you're only playing deathmatch \ arms race at the moment? Those are going to teach you some habits that are hard to break (trust me, I've got the same problems - played casual only for many years and some of the habits are hard to unlearn).

Firstly, the running...you shouldn't be running all the time. Running messes with aim and gives away your position to the opponent...that's 2 disadvantages you've given yourself before you've even seen the opponent. Running with the AK is going to limit your headshot potential a lot...if you're still )or stepping rather than running) when you see the opponent and then take the shot, you've given yourself a much better chance. You can start stepping left or right immediately after that first shot you've taken to mess with his aim.

Then on recoil - I'm just going to drop this off. Nobody gets this good without a **** ton of practice but it illustrates what's possible when you understand the guns -

I've never seen Fox run and shoot, he always stops first so no bad habit there.

Funnily enough I was just thinking about that last night. Listening to the chat on Deathmatches it's clear that a lot of players come in there to warm up before going into competitive, but like you say it might not be the best because the death match maps are *crowded* sometimes and it's 10 minutes of just unadulterated sniping from every direction at full run.

I'd like to experiment with competitive: is there anything I should know before I just go in and get set up with a random team? In competitive what degree of voice calling is expected? Because enemies can hear voice too, surely you don't want to discuss strategy or even say that you've spotted somebody?

That is only in the normal game modes, in Comp the other team can't hear you. :crylaugh:

Edit: Sorry for laughing, that was really funny, you really are brand spanking new to CSGO.

Don't laugh :( You must have been a noob at some point too, or were you born with an AUP in your hands?

See my edit above.

You can obviously do whatever you want but I suggest you wait until you at least reach rank 21 for Prime Matchmaking.

With regards to playing Competitive, remember half time is going to happen and you're going to switch sides and then you have rifles you've never played with.

That's why I suggest every round or every other round switching between T and CT.

Yes boss, I do that already occasionally in Deathmatches, except I dislike the AK and I find that the terrorists look physically a lot weaker to the CT force. Somebody needs to buy the terrorists all gym memberships.

Remember that when you have a couple hundred hours under your belt.

You know, it's not like all terrorists in death matches are running around with the AK. Is it more popular in Competitive? All I've seen is the large number of players who all think they're amazing at using the AWP, and somebody's always complaining about "Oh, it looks like a joined an AWP server" on voice chat.
